The Public Prosecution Authority is part of the Ministry of Justice’s group and performs a central societal task; to prosecute criminal conduct and contribute to Denmark being safe and secure and one of the world's leading rule-of-law societies. The Public Prosecution works to ensure legal certainty and fair handling of criminal cases, and the core task is to prosecute criminal acts, ensure that the guilty are held accountable, that the innocent are not prosecuted, and that all cases are handled in a fact-based and objective manner
The Director of Public Prosecutions has as the top public prosecutor the professional responsibility for the Prosecution's activities across the country, is the top administrative head of the Prosecution and is subject to the supervision of the Ministry of Justice. The Director of Public Prosecutions supervises the state prosecutors. The Director also has a central task in the work of optimizing the criminal case chain across the police, prosecution, courts and Denmark's Prisons.
About the position
As resource director in the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions you will have the opportunity to lead engaged and capable managers and staff in the Prosecution's Administration Department, which works for secure operation and development of the prosecution's finances, governance, IT, HR and communications.
You will have the opportunity to work in a high professional environment with an exciting everyday life, where the world's attention rests on your area. You will also collaborate closely with, among others, the Ministry of Justice's department and the other authorities in the criminal case chain.
You will participate in the development of the Ministry of Justice's group, and it is also your task to ensure that the Prosecution executes the decisions made in this context.
You will report to the Director of Public Prosecutions and be part of the Director's management, just as you will participate in the Prosecution's Leadership Forum and the police group leadership.
The Prosecution has about 1,700 employees, distributed across the central prosecution (the State Prosecutions and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions) and the local prosecutions in the police districts.
Qualifications
You have a relevant higher education, for example cand.polit., cand.scient.pol., cand.jur., experience with similar tasks and leadership experience from larger – preferably public – institutions. It is advantageous if you have experience in leading through leaders. Knowledge of the police and the Prosecution's area of work is an advantage, but not a requirement.
We expect you to have a strong professional competence, decisiveness and personal integrity, and that you are a visible and trust-building leader who can ensure both operation and development. In addition, relational skills, strategic vision, execution power and a thorough understanding of financial management are emphasized.
