About the job

Will you help raise the professional standards across elder care? Do you have strong nursing competencies, and are you passionate about developing others and creating learning close to practice? Then you may be the district nurse we are looking for in District Tirsdalen 😊

In Randers Municipality, we are in the process of implementing the Elder Reform and a new organization where nursing is integrated into the districts/home care. We are establishing fixed cross-disciplinary teams where nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, social and healthcare assistants, and social and healthcare helpers work closely around the citizens. This creates new opportunities to bring coherence, strengthen professionalism, and ensure that citizens receive the right help close to their daily lives.

We will be two district nurses

As part of the politically decided strengthening of elder care, all districts/home care in Randers Municipality will in the future have two district nurses.

In District Tirsdalen we already have a skilled and experienced district nurse, and we are now seeking her new partner. Together you will play a central role in supporting and developing the professional quality in the district. You will become close professional collaborators and have the opportunity to make each other look good, share knowledge, and jointly create learning and competence development close to practice.

The two district nurses will also be an important part of the overall professional community in the district, and where you—in close cooperation with nursing and therapists—will help lift the entire elder care in terms of competence.

You make others more capable

As a district nurse, your most important task is not to perform nursing for citizens yourself, but to support and upgrade our SOSU workers so they are even better equipped to carry out care and nursing tasks for citizens.

You must be close to practice and translate your nursing knowledge into learning in everyday life. This can be through professional sparring, guidance, teaching, or bedside learning.

You must be able to see where there is a need for a competence boost, and together with the employee find the best way to create learning. This requires that you can see the professionalism, ask the right questions, teach, and create learning in the situation.

A strong cross-disciplinary collaboration

You will not be left alone with the task.

You will become part of a close professional collaboration with the district's nursing and therapy group, where different professionalities are brought into play to create the best possible offer to the citizens. Together you shall support employees in developing their competences and create a culture where professional sparring, learning, and competence development are a natural part of everyday life.

We believe we succeed best when we use each other6s professionalities and work together toward the common goal: to create high quality and coherence for the citizen.

Your tasks

As a district nurse you will have a broad professional role. You will, among other things

  • Be a professional sparring partner for social- and healthcare assistants, social- and healthcare assistants and other staff such as unskilled substitutes
  • Train and upskill staff in care- and nursing interventions
  • Use bedside learning as a natural part of competence development
  • Ensure focus on early detection and triage
  • Support staff in responding appropriately to changes in the citizen's condition
  • Participate in DTM meetings (The Interdisciplinary Meetings), and as needed take on the role of meeting chair
  • Support the development of staff's role as contact persons and pathway managers
  • Be the lead on introducing new colleagues
  • Plan and conduct professional teaching and competence development
  • Support competences within, among other things, medication management, risk situation medicines, ISBAR, TOBS and triage
  • Support implementation of new instructions, procedures, and professional initiatives
  • Contribute to quality assurance through, among other things, self-check of documentation and medication handling
  • Contribute to learning and development based on UTH
  • Coordinate special professional efforts, for example vaccinations and handling of outbreaks

We are looking for you who are motivated by making others more capable

You should want to share your professional knowledge, create reflection, and support employees' development. You must be able to move between professional overview and concrete practice. You should be able to teach a group of employees, but also be close to a colleague, and provide concrete sparring in the situation.

We emphasize that you

  • Are a licensed nurse with solid nursing experience
  • Have the desire and interest to work with competence development and quality improvement
  • Can convey knowledge to others, be proactive, initiative-driven, and development-oriented
  • Can communicate complex nursing knowledge in a simple, respectful, and applicable way
  • Have an eye for both the citizen's needs and the employees' competences
  • Work systematically with quality and patient safety
  • Support interdisciplinary collaboration, and possess relational competences
  • Work in a structured manner, can maintain an overview, and can prioritise
  • Keep up-to-date and develop your own professional knowledge in the area
  • Have a desire to help develop the new organization

Experience from municipal nursing, teaching, guidance or competence development is an advantage, but the most important is that you are passionate about professionalism and about making others more capable.

With us you get

  • An experienced and capable district nurse as your close professional partner
  • Close collaboration with nurses, therapists, SOSU workers and duo leadership
  • Opportunity to use your nursing expertise in a new way
  • Opportunity to contribute to lifting the elder care's competence
  • A daily life close to practice and citizens' needs
  • Opportunity to make a concrete difference for both citizens and employees
  • A professional community where we help each other succeed
  • Opportunity to be part of a staff group with a super work environment and a healthy culture
  • Two leaders in the district (duo leadership)

If you are motivated to raise professionalism, create learning, and make your colleagues even better at their work, we look forward to hearing from you 😊
