About the job

Rønnegård seeks educators and staff with experience and/or interest in the field of special education. Do you want a job where relationships, expertise and small progressions matter? At Rønnegård we are looking for new colleagues who want to help create safe, meaningful, and good everyday lives for adults with intellectual disabilities and psychiatric diagnoses.

You don’t need to know everything in advance. Experience from the special education field is naturally an advantage, but we also place great value on who you are as a person: that you are calm, curious, responsible and eager to get to know our residents.

Therefore, Rønnegård may be right for you

With us you will become part of a large and diverse workplace with more than 140 employees distributed across several teams and houses. We have different professional backgrounds and competences, and we see interdisciplinary collaboration as a strength – there needs to be room to spar and learn from each other.

We offer, among other things

  • 37-hour positions
  • Long shifts typically 15.5 hours, which provide fewer attendance days and thus more consecutive days off. As a rule, you work every 3rd weekend.
  • Ongoing supervision and professional sparring – so you are not alone with difficult situations
  • Opportunities for competence development and to develop within the field of special education.
  • A large collegial community where we help each other and dare to give and receive professional sparring.
  • Good staff conditions with the possibility of overnight stays in connection with long shifts.

We believe that staff who thrive and feel professionally well-equipped also create better frameworks for our residents.

Who lives at Rønnegård?

Rønnegård is a highly specialized offering for adults with developmental disabilities combined with psychiatric diagnoses.

Our residents are people with different needs, resources and challenges. Therefore there is not one method that fits all.

We work, among other things, with neuro-pedagogy, KRAP and Low Arousal, and our fundamental approach is that what we do must be professionally justified and provide value for the individual resident.

An important part of the special education work is to get to know the person behind the behaviour: What creates security? What triggers frustration? And how can we as staff adapt our support and approach so that the individual gets the best possible everyday life?

A job that both makes sense and sets requirements

We want to be open about the fact that work at Rønnegård can also be demanding. Some of our residents can exhibit challenging behaviour, and you therefore need to be able to stay calm and work professionally – even when a situation becomes difficult.

Personal care and hygiene are also a natural part of the work with some of our residents.

On the other hand, you are not alone. We work together on the task, use each other’s experiences and have ongoing supervision and professional sparring. We want a culture where you can both ask for help and contribute with your own observations and ideas.

For us, professionalism is not about having all the answers. It is also about being curious and daring to ask: Why do we do what we do – and can we do even better for the resident?

Whom are we looking for?

We imagine that you are trained as a pedagogue or have other relevant experience. It is an advantage if you already have experience with the target group or the field of special education.

But we are also interested in you who have the right motivation and a desire to develop yourself together with us.

The most important is that you

  • Want to engage with our residents and learn their individual needs
  • Can create structure, calm, and predictability in daily life
  • Are curious about, among other things, Low Arousal, KRAP and neuro-pedagogy.
  • Can collaborate and actively contribute to shared professional learning
  • Understand the importance of documentation and can communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Can assist with personal care and hygiene
  • Have a driving license and are willing to drive our cars and buses during working hours.

We also hope you would like to be a colleague who can take responsibility, contribute to the community and help create a working day with room for professionalism, humor and job satisfaction.
