Do you want to lead a department in development within the Adult Social Area?

We are looking for a department head who can set a direction, create coherence and develop our efforts together with managers and staff.

At Social Area Adults in Furesø Municipality we are implementing a new organization to support coherent, rehabilitative and recovery-oriented efforts for adult citizens.

Therefore we are seeking a department head for an area in development. You will have direct managerial responsibility for three daily managers and become the leader of a department with experienced staff, strong professional expertise and an ambition to jointly develop our efforts.

You will not be building a department from scratch. You will build on what is already functioning, bring together different professionalities and, together with managers and staff, create the common direction for the department’s further development.

We want to do something with our interventions

In Social Area Adults we work with a movement from support to recovery and rehabilitation .

Our ambition is that the citizen’s own goals, resources and possibilities for progression should be evident in our interventions. At the same time, we want to strengthen preventive and community-oriented offers and create better coherence across the municipality’s interventions.

The department handles a wide range of tasks within social-pedagogical citizen support, specialized interventions, substance misuse interventions as well as preventive, rehabilitative and community-oriented offerings.

This provides a broad professional span—from early and preventive offers to specialized support interventions. The common thread is the ambition to base work on the citizen’s needs and resources and to work systematically with development, progression and the greatest possible independence.

Leadership is something we create together

As department head you will have the overall professional, personnel and financial responsibility for the area and direct managerial responsibility for three daily managers , who handle day-to-day staff management and operations close to staff and citizens.

For us, good leadership is not just about setting a direction. It is also about creating the direction together.

Therefore we want a department head who can stand clearly on the goals for decisions and frameworks, but who is also curious about the knowledge and experience that exists among managers and staff.

You must be able to create a strong leadership community with the three daily managers and a culture where managers and staff take responsibility, contribute their expertise and experience that the department’s development is something we lift together.

That does not mean everyone has to agree on everything. But it means that we believe in dialogue, involvement and shared responsibility as the basis for creating durable solutions.

You will become part of a larger context

The department is part of the overall Social Area Adults, which includes authority, long-term residential accommodations as well as preventive and rehabilitative interventions .

As department head you report to the area manager for Social Area Adults and become part of the area’s shared leadership.

Here we expect you to take responsibility for your own area and contribute to the overall development. We must succeed across organizational boundaries and create coherent citizen trajectories together with authorities, residential facilities, the municipality’s other service areas and external partners.

Therefore you must be willing to both lead your own area and lead together with others .

Who are you?

We are looking for an experienced leader with a relevant professional background and solid leadership experience from the social sector or another complex welfare area.

You do not need to have all the answers yourself. But you must be curious, able to ask the right questions and create the framework for us to find good solutions together.
