About the job

School Center

We are seeking a strategically strong and experienced leader who is passionate about creating the best conditions for the well-being, development and participation of children and young people.

As head of PPR you will have the opportunity to lead a well-functioning department with strong professional skills and engaged employees. You must set the direction for the continued development of PPR and strengthen collaboration with day care, schools and families – with a focus on more participation opportunities and sustainable communities for children and young people in the municipality.

Do you have strategic vision, strong relational competencies and a desire to make a difference? Then it might be you we are looking for.

About the job

Ringsted Municipality’s PPR (Pedagogical Psychological Counselling) is seeking a new leader who, with experience and a high level of competence, can step into a well-functioning unit and ensure continued support for both citizens, schools and day care while also placing a strategic focus on the development that the times call for from us.

Our core task is to support the well-being, development and participation opportunities of children and young people in their own lives. We therefore work to prevent and reduce social and educational challenges through counselling and practice-based guidance to schools, kindergartens, parents and other partners.

Your leadership tasks will include

  • Chief executive for PPR with responsibility for strategic leadership as well as daily operations.
  • Leader of the Easily Accessible treatment offer together with two other leaders from two other professional areas.
  • Set the direction for the professional and strategic development of PPR and ensure continued development of practice-oriented guidance and cross-professional task solving.
  • Collaborate with other centers and authorities about our children, youth and families in Ringsted Municipality.
  • Direct supervisor for staff in Team North and the team leader in Team South.

Who are you

We are looking for an experienced leader, preferably from a similar position, who has in-depth knowledge of PPR and the Easily Accessible treatment offer. Experience with both strategic leadership and solid day-to-day operations will be in focus.

We place emphasis on your ability to create a positive working environment with a high professional standard, where employees thrive, develop and take responsibility. Therefore, employees and management collaborate continuously on competence development, organization and development of initiatives and methods.

Our PPR unit consists of a strong community with energetic, dedicated and skilled employees in a workplace characterized by humor, high ceilings and many professional and social activities. It is therefore important that our upcoming leader can exercise transparent and clear leadership based on trust and dialogue.

As a leader you must be able to make decisions and set a clear direction, while also creating inclusive processes and being close to the staff and their professionalism. You must be able to navigate confidently in an organization with many different professional disciplines and collaboration interfaces and at the same time be able to lead upwards and engage constructively in the strategic development of the area.

The employees in PPR describe their upcoming leader as follows

Transparent, authentic, exercises trust-based leadership, inclusive, sets framework and direction, leadership across professions of several different disciplines, structured, can lead upwards, contributes with motivation, engagement and good energy.

The Department

Ringsted Municipality’s Pedagogical Psychological Counseling (PPR) is organizationally placed in the School Center. The unit handles tasks in both day care and school settings and serves Ringsted Municipality’s 25 day care centers, 8 public schools and 6 free and private schools. In addition, PPR handles tasks related to the municipality’s two specialized school offerings and center departments.

Ringsted PPR consists of 21 staff with different professional backgrounds: speech and hearing consultants, motor skill consultants, psychologists, pedagogical-psychological consultants and absence consultants. The unit is organized into two districts with their own team leaders, of whom you would be one. We work cross-professionally around the tasks solved in close cooperation with day care, schools and other municipal partners.

The portfolio of tasks spans wide and includes, among other things, counselling and guidance, PPV, assessment, referrals to psychiatry as well as a portion of Ringsted Municipality’s easily accessible treatment offers for children aged 6-11 years.

In recent years, Ringsted PPR has worked purposefully to get closer to the pedagogical and didactic practice in day care and schools. Practice-based guidance has become an important part of our task solution, where counselling and professional sparring more often take place based on concrete practice and with the professionals around the child. This is a development we want to continue and expand in the coming years.

Ringsted PPR will initiate in November a joint training program in LØFT and Signs of Safety. The purpose is to strengthen our common professional foundation and develop our toolbox with new perspectives on, among other things, meeting facilitation, dialogue and supporting change and development. The training should give us a common language and a common starting point to explore how approaches from LØFT and Signs of Safety can be meaningfully integrated in our cooperation with day care and schools.

A particular strength of our PPR unit is the clear internal and external collaboration structures. We have built an organization with clear workflows, quality standards and fixed collaboration interfaces, which support a high degree of accessibility and coherence in task solving. This means, among other things, that the department currently handles its tasks without waiting lists.

We offer

As the leader of Ringsted PPR you will have a central position in the municipality in work with children and young people. You will become part of the overall management group in the School Center, where both leadership development, sparring and joint task solving shape the collaboration.

You will have the managerial responsibility for a PPR unit that is characterized by versatility and a high degree of flexibility, where freedom and shared responsibility are key concepts. We have a common systemic understanding in the solution-focused approach. We recognize that children and young people develop through participation in communities, and that their difficulties must therefore be understood in relation to the development and learning environments in which they appear.

You will have close collaboration with the other Children and Youth area in the municipality. In Ringsted Municipality we have a clear collaboration structure, the Development Model, which focuses on close cooperation between local and central professionals and parents. We work based on politically adopted quality standards in the Children and Youth area, which provide citizens with simple and clear information about processes and deadlines for our tasks.

You report to the Chief of Schools and will participate in ongoing sparring.

In addition, our PPR department is centrally located in Ringsted within walking distance from the station.
