About the job

Do you thrive with patient contact, administrative tasks and a daily life where no two days are the same? Do you have an overview, a good service mindset and a desire to contribute to good collaboration? Then you may be our new colleague.

With us you will become part of a secretarial group where we emphasize professionalism, responsibility and respectful collaboration.

The position is a combined role, where during the week you rotate between our inpatient ward and ambulatory reception.

In the reception you are often one of the first the patients and their relatives meet. Some come with concerns or questions, and here it matters how we welcome them. You help create calm, overview and security and help patients move forward well.

In the inpatient ward you further contribute to ensuring that the administrative tasks surrounding patients’ admission, examinations and discharge run smoothly.

Your tasks in the inpatient ward will include

  • Admission and discharge of patients in Sundhedsplatformen, as well as preparation of the next day’s patients.
  • Ordering of blood tests, X-ray examinations and other investigations.
  • Booking of outpatient control appointments and administrative tasks at discharge.
  • Coordination of patient transport, interpreters and porters.
  • Participation in multidisciplinary meetings and telephone contact with patients, relatives and partners.

Your tasks in the ambulatory reception will include

  • Reception and registration of outpatient and acute patients in Sundhedsplatformen.
  • Booking and modification of patient appointments.
  • Telephone service and guidance for patients and relatives.
  • Coordination of patient transport, interpreters and porters.
  • Overview of today’s patient program, including acute patients and need for interpretation.

Who are you?

You have experience as a health administrative employee and knowledge of Sundhedsplatformen. It is not a prerequisite that you are trained as a medical secretary or health administrative coordinator.

We hope that you

  • Have a natural service mindset and thrive with patient contact.
  • Keep calm and maintain overview, even when pace is high.
  • Work independently, in a structured manner and with a focus on quality.
  • Are curious and eager to learn new things.
  • Contribute positively to collaboration and the work environment.
  • Help your colleagues and take responsibility across functions.

You will get a versatile position with close patient contact, independent tasks and multidisciplinary collaboration. We offer thorough onboarding in both roles, opportunities for professional development and influence on your tasks.

The interdisciplinary collaboration is an important part of our daily life, where in close dialogue with doctors, nurses and other professional groups we contribute to good and cohesive patient pathways.

We have weekly secretarial meetings, multidisciplinary staff meetings and opportunities for professional training. We actively work with wellbeing and place emphasis on respect, helpfulness and good communication in everyday life.

The position is 37 hours per week with varying working hours. The working time is planned so that the reception and inpatient ward are covered between 7:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. You are several colleagues who share the task of staffing the two functions, and the working hours therefore vary during the week. One day a week you work until 5:00 p.m. in the inpatient ward. You will cover this late shift on Wednesdays.

The Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at Rigshospitalet treats patients with diseases of the arterial and venous system outside the heart. We have about 13,000 outpatient visits annually and 34 beds. The department is located on the 10th and 11th floors, and you will become part of a secretarial group of 10 staff.

Would you like to be our new colleague?

We look forward to receiving your application. If you have questions, you are welcome to contact Chief Nurse Pernille Morgen 35 45 91 82.

Start date: December 1, 2026 or by agreement. Application deadline: October 30, 2026.

We conduct interviews on an ongoing basis.

Salary and employment terms follow the collective agreement for health administrative staff - collective agreement 32.09.1
