Doctors for introductory positions in Anesthesiology, Bispebjerg Hospital

At the Anesthesiology Department, Bispebjerg Hospital, there are two 1-year Introductory Positions available for fill on respectively February 1 and April 1, 2027

For each position we are looking for a dynamic doctor

• who is good at communication and collaboration
• who enjoys working across disciplines
• who has dexterity and flair for urgent work with many balls in the air, while keeping control of the details surrounding the individual patient

The department follows the training program from the Danish Society of Anesthesiology (DASAIM). More information about portfolio and objectives can be read on the society’s website www.dasaim.dk .

You will receive formal training over 8 weeks, during which you will not be on call. After training, you will join the on-call team with independent daytime duties and approx. 3-5 evening-night shifts per month.

The on-call arrangements in the Anesthesiology Department consist of a resident doctor and three specialists (or 1st residents) in a presence on-call, of which one specialist is permanently attached to the operating theatre.

Strong focus on education

Education has high priority in the department, and in 2020 it received DASAIM’s Education Prize. We have good camaraderie among our training doctors at all levels, and we particularly highlight a strong feedback culture across disciplines and levels, and a well-functioning buddy system for all residents.

During the introductory training there is also the parallel possibility of administrative tasks upon request. The department also has a large and active research community with a professorship and several ongoing PhD programs.

The Anesthesiology Department Z includes, in addition to the anesthesia ward, a perioperative unit (recovery), an intensive care unit and a pain clinic. As an introductory doctor you will primarily be attached to the anesthesia ward. We perform annually about 11,500 anesthetics, mainly for elective and acute abdominal and orthopedic surgery, but also for the knowledge center for wound healing, dermatology department, ECT treatment and DC conversions.

The anesthesia ward at Bispebjerg collaborates closely with the emergency department in connection with the admission of trauma patients and medically acutely ill patients. You can read more about our department at www.bispebjerghospital.dk .

About Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital

Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital is one of the city’s major acute care hospitals. The hospital at the Bispebjerg campus was built in 1913 and houses a number of historic and protected buildings surrounded by award-winning park-like outdoor areas known as the healing gardens.
