Doctors sought for introductory positions in child and adolescent psychiatry at Aalborg University Hospital

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry are seeking 4 junior doctors for outpatient work as of January 1, 2027.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is predominantly an outpatient specialty with interdisciplinary collaboration around children, adolescents and families, as well as a focus on cooperation with the municipality, schools and Pedagogical Psychological Counseling (PPR). Our target group is children and adolescents aged 0-18 years with burdensome symptoms of developmental disorders such as ADHD or autism and/or mental disorders that require hospital-based assessment and treatment.

As an intern doctor you will be attached to either the Ambulatory Clinic for Child Psychiatry (0-13 years) or the Ambulatory Clinic for Adolescent Psychiatry (14-17 years). The department also consists of the Ambulatory Clinic for Eating Disorders, two inpatient wards, a day unit and a Unit for Cross-Sectoral Development and Collaboration.

The department has approximately 25 training physicians.

You will receive …

• A broad introduction to the child and adolescent psychiatric specialty including experience in assessment and treatment of developmental disorders and mental illnesses as well as network work and subacute and acute work.
• Theoretical I-course of 8 days and commencing the basic course in psychotherapy.
• Experience in providing psychotherapy under supervision.
• A good educational environment with interdisciplinary conferences and weekly supervision.
• A good interdisciplinary and collegial community.

Your duties will be …

• Diagnostic pathways including conversations and interviews with patient and their family, somatic- and functional neurological examinations and hosting network meetings.
• Treatment pathways with psychopharmacology, psychotherapy and psychoeducation.
• Function as the case-responsible coordinator for the patient and their family.
• Day shifts with master-apprentice where you, among other things, perform assessments in the psychiatric emergency department, supervise on somatic wards and handle tasks on our 24-hour department.

Practical information

These are full-time positions. Salary and employment terms in accordance with the agreement between Danske Regioner and the Association of Young Doctors.

In accordance with the Region Nordjylland employment procedure, criminal and child background checks are obtained when the employee has contact with children and youths under 15 years. In addition, a reference from a previous employer is obtained.
