About the job

  • Do you want to help shape the future of the local health care?

Would you like to use your occupational therapy expertise closely with citizens? Do you thrive in complex pathways, clinical assessments, rehabilitation and strong interdisciplinary collaboration?

Would you like to be involved from the start when a new department is to be formed?

So perhaps you are the one we are looking for.

We are seeking a engaged, experienced and academically strong occupational therapist for the new health and care placements in Varde.

Here you will have a unique opportunity to become part of a department that is being built and developed

  • and to help shape the future citizen-centered rehabilitation and interdisciplinary efforts.

A job where your occupational therapy contribution makes a difference

At the health and care placements you will meet citizens who need more time, training, treatment, support and rehabilitation before they are ready to move on.

The citizens may have complex somatic and medical issues, reduced functional ability and several concurrent diseases. Your professional assessment, rehabilitative approach and ability to see the whole person will therefore be decisive.

You will have a everyday life where you work independently and closely with other professional groups around the citizen.

We are looking for you who

  • have broad occupational therapy experience and a desire to work with citizens from different specialties
  • have strong professional and analytical competencies
  • have experience with assessment of activity and functional capacity
  • work rehabilitatively and see possibilities rather than limitations
  • can work independently and make decisions
  • are an engaged team player and contribute to the community
  • can build trust and security with citizens and relatives
  • thrive in interdisciplinary and cross-sector collaboration
  • are curious about new ways of working
  • are keen on professional development and to help develop a new department
  • understand that a good work environment is created together.

You don't need to know everything. The most important is that you are motivated, professionally skilled and engaged to participate.

The position is full-time with start as soon as possible.

Your tasks

As an occupational therapist you will be a central part of the citizen's pathway. You will, among other things,:

  • perform occupational therapy assessments
  • work with ADL and activity training
  • support the citizen's regain of function and independence
  • assess the need for aids and compensatory strategies
  • plan, implement and evaluate rehabilitation interventions
  • identify changes in the citizen's functional ability and act on them
  • collaborate with citizens, relatives and partners
  • work closely with nurses, social- and health-care assistants as well as physiotherapists
  • create coherence in the citizen's pathway
  • contribute to development and implementation of new workflows.
