Dybvad and Østervrå Elderly Centers are seeking hourly substitutes

We are looking for both social and health care assistants, social and health care helpers, and unskilled workers who want to become part of the daily life at our two elderly centers.

You may already be trained SSH or SSA and want some extra shifts or a flexible work life.

You may be considering a training within the health and elderly sector, but would like to try the profession first.

Or perhaps you have no experience in elder care yet, but you are curious, want to learn, and can see yourself in a job where relationships, responsibility and care for other people are an important part of everyday life.

Who we are

Dybvad and Østervrå Elderly Centers are two care centers with shared management and close cooperation.

At Østervrå Elderly Center there are 31 permanent residents, and one relief bed, as well as our production kitchen, which prepares meals for both centers.

At Dybvad Elderly Center there are 20 permanent residents, with 5 relief places.

With us you will meet both citizens who have their home at the elderly center, and citizens who are with us for a shorter period.

We are a multidisciplinary team including, among others, social and health assistants, social and health care helpers, an occupational therapist, house assistants, nutrition assistants and nurses. We work together to create a safe and dignified everyday life based on each citizen’s needs, wishes and resources.

We are looking for you who

• are trained SSH or SSA – or are UNTRAINED and want to learn the profession
• want to work with elderly people and meet them with respect and curiosity
• can join a work community and ask when there is something you are unsure about
• are stable and take responsibility for the shifts you say yes to
• want to learn and develop yourself
• can see the value in even the small things in everyday life having a great impact on another person.

You don’t need to know everything in advance.

If you are unskilled, we do not expect you to come in and be able to do the same as our trained staff. Instead, we expect you to want to learn, accept guidance and be curious about the work.

We would like to give you the opportunity to both improve in practice and find out whether the social and health field could be a training path for you.

What you will be doing?

As a substitute you will become part of the daily care and nursing around our residents.

Tasks depend on your education, experience and competencies. Among other things you may help with personal care, meals, activities and practical tasks, as well as help create structure, presence and good moments in the residents’ everyday life.

If you are trained SSA or SSH, you will naturally receive tasks corresponding to your professional competencies.

We emphasize that you do not stand alone with tasks you are not trained for.

A job that can fit into the rest of your life

As a temporary substitute there may be opportunities for shifts at different times – both weekdays, weekends and during holiday periods.

It may therefore be relevant for you who, for example

• are in education
• are taking a gap year
• are considering a social and health education
• already work in the field and want extra hours
• are retired from the field but still want occasional shifts
• want flexible work where you also make a concrete difference.

We need substitutes now and in the future and would very much like to build a group of fixed, familiar substitutes who learn our residents, workflows and colleagues.

Two houses – more possibilities

You can be attached to Dybvad Elderly Center, Østervrå Elderly Center or both , depending on what suits you and our needs.

Both elderly centers belong to the Center for Health and Elderly, Frederikshavn Municipality.
