About the job
Finance Denmark has set a new strategic direction that should strengthen our overall advocacy on behalf of the financial sector and ensure that both the organization and the sector stand strong in a time of growing national and global challenges. The financial sector plays a central role as an alliance partner for society and in the development of future solutions. As part of the ongoing development we are now seeking an economist for the Department of Mortgage Credit and Real Estate Financing.
About the position
You work at the intersection of economics, politics and financing, and contribute to positioning the financial sector as an active societal partner in the green transition. You help develop solutions that strengthen the possibilities for financing green energy, the electricity grid, energy efficiency, climate protection and the sustainable transition of agriculture.
You will also have tasks within the housing market, rural areas and real estate financing and contribute to developing political initiatives and representing our members' interests in Denmark and the EU.
You succeed by applying your solid economic expertise and translating analyses and knowledge into concrete advocacy and political solutions. You do this in close cooperation with our members, authorities, European institutions and other relevant stakeholders.
Tasks and responsibilities
You will work on some of the major economic and political agendas that affect the financial sector and society. You should, among other things:
- Prepare economic analyses and translate them into concrete political proposals and solutions, and contribute to decision briefs, professional notes, consultation responses, political briefs and press material.
- Identify and work to remove barriers to financing the green transition, e.g. in energy, the electricity grid, electrification, energy efficiency and climate protection
- Contribute to our housing policy work and develop proposals that support a well-functioning housing market with more homes and good frameworks for housing finance
- Work on the economy and financing of agriculture, including financing the sector's green transition
- Collaborate closely with our members and relevant stakeholders to develop and drive agendas that matter for society and the sector.
We offer
Finance Denmark promises an exciting, busy and challenging everyday life – largely characterized by highly topical issues, in terms of both media and politics. The working day covers both operations and development, and this happens in close interaction with skilled and professionally strong colleagues internally, as well as with our members in the Danish financial sector. You will be part of a team that works together and values collaboration, sparring, good humor, high professionalism, a strong network and social interaction.
Finance Denmark is based in Amaliegade in the inner city, where you will join about 110 colleagues. We are characterized by a high professional level, good collaboration and an informal tone. We place emphasis on development and influence.
About you
We imagine that you
- Are a strong economist with a relevant economics master's degree, e.g., cand.polit., cand.oecon. or equivalent, and can analyse complex problems and translate data and economic expertise into clear conclusions and recommendations
- You have several years of relevant professional experience, e.g. from an interest organization, central administration, the financial sector or another politically led organization, and are accustomed to independently driving professional and political agendas forward.
- Are good at understanding complex issues and the framework conditions and regulation of the financial sector, which affect opportunities to contribute with financing
- Have strong societal and political understanding and can navigate the intersection of expertise, politics and advocacy. You manage to see an issue from both the members' and a broader socio-economic perspective
- Communicate clearly and precisely in Danish and English and can convey economic analyses and political recommendations to both members, decision-makers and other stakeholders
- Take responsibility for your areas and drive analyses, projects and political processes from idea to concrete result. At the same time you must be able to collaborate closely with colleagues, members and external stakeholders
