About the job
Would you like to help develop and set the direction for medical postgraduate education at AUH into the healthcare system of the future?
The implementation of the Health Reform will largely transform medical postgraduate education. There will be a need for everyone – not only doctors – to educate themselves throughout life across professional disciplines and sectors, and that new competencies in digitization, holistic thinking and collaboration with others are integrated into the medical core tasks.
We are therefore from 1 January 2027 seeking a visionary and development-oriented educational coordinating lead physician (UKLO) who has the ability and desire to, in close collaboration with others, lead the overarching professional and strategic task and effort to develop medical postgraduate education at AUH.
About the position
As UKLO you will have a central role in the development of medical postgraduate education. You will contribute to translating strategic goals into concrete actions through leadership, advisory work, quality development and organizational anchoring. The function is carried out in close interaction with the health and hospital management, the hospital's strategic council for education, the educational actors at the hospital, and external partners within education and other relevant areas.
Your role builds a bridge between strategy and clinic, and you will help future-proof the organization of the entire education area at AUH.
You will take on an important role in creating coherence between strategic priorities and daily educational practice in the departments. You will help develop, plan and optimize the quality of education both at the department level and across the hospital. You will, among other things, help disseminate and improve pedagogical methods, strengthen educational leadership and ensure a continuous strong focus on creating a good and safe learning environment.
As UKLO you will become part of Medical Postgraduate Education, which is part of AUH’s education organization, anchored in HR. Here you will engage in a close, binding collaboration on interprofessional education at AUH.
You will work closely with the hospital's two other UKLOs, and together you have a special responsibility for professional development within the field.
An important task is to advise and cooperate with the health and hospital management, department management and education teams to strengthen the quality of education, develop attractive learning environments and ensure coherence between strategy, operations and quality development. The role entails both coordination, case handling, competence development, follow-up on quality data and representation of the hospital in regional and national collaboration fora.
Core areas
- Strategy and management support
Develop and qualify the overall strategy for medical postgraduate education in close collaboration with health and hospital management and support relevant councils and fora.
- Quality assurance and development of education
Coordinate, quality assure and further develop educational initiatives in departments and across the hospital based on quality data, including inspector visits and follow-up.
- Strengthening the educational environment and educational leadership
Facilitate pedagogical and organizational initiatives that support an attractive educational environment, as well as contribute to faculty development and onboarding of educationally responsible senior physicians
- Case handling and management of educational pathways
Support administration and case handling within medical postgraduate education, including handling of unsatisfactory pathways, sizing and future educational initiatives.
- Development, research and external representation
Promote development and research efforts within medical education and represent the hospital in regional and national collaboration fora to strengthen the hospital's profile as an educational hospital.
About you
As UKLO you must be a senior physician with board-certified qualifications, with experience from a clinical senior physician position and preferably function as educationally responsible senior physician. Additionally, you may already have relevant postgraduate education, preferably at diploma/master level within medical pedagogy, leadership or related areas.
We emphasize that you
- have strong strategic and organizational understanding and can translate overarching goals into concrete development efforts
- can advise and collaborate closely with health and hospital management, department management and education teams
- have experience with quality development, coordination and follow-up on educational initiatives based on data and evaluations

- can create relationships and represent the organization securely in cross-sector, regional and national collaboration fora
- are good at building networks and can work in a field with different partners across professional disciplines and organizations
- are development-oriented and have decisiveness as well as the ability to manage and navigate major changes
- As a person you have great commitment and the courage to stand firm, while you must be listening, respectful, empathetic and inclusive, and above all have a curious and open approach.
