Rødovre Parkvej Skole seeks pedagogical staff for temporary position

Do you want to help create safe surroundings and make a difference for children in their daily lives?

Rødovre Parkvej Skole is looking for engaged and relationship-focused staff with pedagogical experience for a temporary position until December 18, with the possibility of extension.

We are looking for both educators, teaching assistants, pedagogical aides and others who want to join a strong community around our students.

Rødovre Parkvej Skole 1st floor.

On the 1st floor we work with students with autism spectrum disorders and various comorbid challenges such as ADHD, ADD, OCD, anxiety as well as behavioral and emotional difficulties.

Several of our students have previously had difficult school experiences and may have experienced school refusal, stress or demand-avoidant behavior. They therefore need a school environment with safety, clarity, predictability and individually adapted frameworks.

We focus on life skills and social training, and independence is practiced in both large and small steps – e.g., being able to transport oneself, participate in a leisure activity or take initiative in social communities.

Education that makes sense

In teaching, it is essential that the students can see the meaning of what they are learning. We therefore base our approach on each student’s interests, motivation, learning style and current functional level.

Tasks and activities must be manageable, clear and purposeful, with a goal the student can understand. We are also aware that students’ academic abilities can fluctuate, and that sounds, light, smells and other sensory inputs can affect their ability to participate and concentrate.

About the job

As part of our pedagogical staff you will become an important adult in the students’ daily lives. You will work closely with teachers and pedagogy staff to create structure, well-being and good relationships – both in teaching, during breaks and in the school’s other activities.

Your tasks may include

· supporting students in teaching and in their social communities

· helping to create calm, structure and predictability in daily life

· participating in activities, breaks etc.

· cooperating with other school staff on students’ well-being and development

· being a visible and present adult whom students can trust.

We are looking for you if you

· have a pedagogical education or relevant experience with children and youth

· are good at building relationships and meeting children with calm, curiosity and clarity

· can stay overview in a busy day

· are flexible and want to collaborate in a professional community

· contribute with good humor and commitment.

It is advantageous if you have experience from school, after-school care or other pedagogical environments, but the most important is your approach to children and your ability to build good relationships.

Employment

Salary and terms of employment are according to the applicable collective agreement and in agreement with the negotiating organization.
