About the job
A position as a senior physician with the role of educationally responsible senior physician (UAO) in Radiology and Imaging (RS), Section 4-5, Aarhus University Hospital (AUH) is available for filling as of 1 November 2026 or by agreement. Concrete experience as UAO is required, as the department has a large educational obligation with many introductory and main training physicians (HU) at both level 1 and level 2. The department currently has 29 HU doctors and five interns, and all pass through Section 4-5 for shorter or longer periods.
The position includes on-call obligations in the department's specialty on-call team. RS, AUH is undergoing a major on-call restructuring, among other things driven by the wish for more specialists during daytime. There is currently on-call coverage corresponding to about eight doctors. With the on-call restructuring, the on-call team is expected to become larger, more robust, and with fewer shifts per individual.
As a senior physician you will primarily participate in during the day in the department's cross-modal urogenital group, which collaborates with the related medical and surgical departments, with functions at the primary, regional, and highly specialized levels. The rest of the hospital's departments are also serviced, which occurs in collaboration with the other professional teams within RS 4-5.
The position also entails an overall functional responsibility for ultrasound (UL) and fluoroscopy (GE), which will be conducted professionally and organizationally in cooperation with the department's other senior physicians. There will overall be a focus on succeeding with the transformation agenda, including creative and efficient task resolution, both now and in the future. You must therefore be used to taking care of these tasks.
The senior physician should, in addition to UAO, as a clinically active senior physician be able to participate in the department's teaching and research obligations.
The department has a good working environment and a good and professional collaboration with the clinical departments. Currently we are 15 consultants and eight specialists. In addition we offer good opportunities for independent work planning, and there is an option for a home workstation.
The expectation of you is that you have an open mind, are flexible and in a constructive way can bring new ideas to our organization. You must dare to put this into play in collaboration with your colleagues, across disciplines as well as with management. You should have the desire and ability to develop professionally and contribute both clinically and organizationally, and we expect this to be done with an engaged and positive approach.
We want a colleague who takes independent initiative to drive development alongside optimizing daily operations, i.e., a colleague who can balance taking care of the near tasks with an eye for the organization's overall perspective.
