Is a residential facility for 6 young adults with visual impairment and multiple functional disabilities.

The target group's mental development level varies from about 3 months up to 2 years.

The pedagogical approach in the residential facility is individually tailored and takes as its starting point the individual's prerequisites, resources and wishes for influence on their own life.

The young people may have complex health-related points of attention, for which an individually tailored effort is made in collaboration with health care professionals in the facility and Synscenter Refsnæs nurses.

We are seeking a professional, caring and present colleague who can work independently, but also is passionate about professional development and sparring. You will have a truly unique opportunity to join an interdisciplinary staff group, where you will contribute to developing a specialized pedagogical approach.

Your profile

You naturally put the young person at the center and work calmly and respectfully towards individual goals and sub-goals.

You derive joy from the very small everyday victories, are patient in the relationship with the individual and are also able to adapt activities according to the individual's daily form. You would like to involve and engage yourself in the team, and see supervision as an opportunity for development.

About the position

From the start you will participate in an onboarding process, including a number of follow-up shifts per resident. We offer basic and specialization education that includes teaching in ADL, Orientation & Mobility, effective use of senses, etc.

In addition to the pedagogical- and health-care activities, your tasks will include

• Collaboration with relatives
• Participation in hospital visits, collaboration with case workers m.m.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with nurses, occupational and physiotherapists
• Handling of personal hygiene and practical tasks at home such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, m.m.

Working hours

Are distributed across day and evening shifts as well as every second weekend, and 1-2 on-call shifts per month. You will have great opportunity to influence the planning of your work schedule.

Starting salary for employees covered by a collective agreement

The region is obligated to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base pay, centrally fixed allowances and pension in the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.

Children and young people registered in the Synsregister or meeting the criteria thereof can make use of the offerings. The target group also includes children and young people with additional disabilities including blindness.

Synscenter Refsnæs is a highly specialized service that works knowledge-based and multidisciplinary with development, learning, well-being and citizenship for the target group in a nationwide collaboration.

The offerings include knowledge work, special consulting and guidance, individual assessment, course offerings and group programs, material production, school, boarding school, STU and residential facilities.
