About the job

The independent nursery Katrinbjergparken is seeking 1 educator for a permanent 30-hour position. The nursery has the opportunity to up-size by 10 children as of 1.9.26, where we started a new room. Seven children have started in the room and it is being continuously filled with many new children. We are therefore seeking an educator to start on 1.12.26.

As a new employee with us you will be introduced to our house, culture and pedagogical basis. It is important to us that you find your place in the house, where you thrive and have the opportunity to contribute with your professionalism and personality.

Who are we;

We are a self-governing day care facility that has an operating agreement with the Municipality of Aarhus. We follow the government's and the council's overarching decisions, but have methodological freedom regarding the initiatives we implement. The same applies to our budget and staffing. As an employee you have the opportunity to influence the organisation of everyday life, tasks, processes and decisions in close cooperation with management and the parent board.

We are an older house with lots of space, warmth and a wonderful playground. Our pedagogical foundation is based on Marte Meo. We opened a new room with 17 staff and have our own kitchen lady and are normed for 46 children distributed over 4 rooms.

Quality for us is;

  • We are present in our relationship with the children and can follow them.
  • We have time and opportunity for immersion.
  • There is focus on the core task and we offer secure frameworks surrounded by caring, competent and professionally skilled staff.
  • We prioritize close adult contact and interaction.
  • We have a particular focus on hearing and seeing the children, their feelings, intents and perspectives.
  • We value appreciative communication and a solution-oriented approach to work.

We work professionally and pedagogically reflective with the children's communities, communication, well-being, learning environments and development. We prioritise a recognizable daily rhythm, as it creates calm for children and adults. We work by room, but also prioritise working across rooms, having open doors in periods of the day to strengthen children's communities and the professional communities.

We strive for the best parent collaboration based on respect, empathy and trustworthiness. The parent collaboration entails close dialogue, sparring and guidance on how we best support the child's well-being, formation and learning. Our parent group consists of a share of foreign/international families, which is why we practice both in Danish and English.

Your profile

  • You want to work with young children, and have the vitality needed to work with people.
  • You can discipline yourself and have the desire and ability to be present together with the children.
  • Can work independently and with engagement.
  • You have an overview and are proactive in your work.
  • Can create structure in daily life, both for the daily routines in the house and in the room. As well as for the more overarching tasks such as parent conversations, completing Samspil (Interaction), receiving new children and practical initiatives in this context.
  • You can communicate professionally both orally and in writing. Spoken English is an advantage.
  • You have a professional approach to the work, where being challenged and challenged professionally is completely natural for the benefit of the house and your personal development.
  • You can act in a team and see the house as a whole.
  • You are flexible with respect to the house, tasks, hours and your colleagues.

What you gain, by using – hopefully – a large part of your working life with us? You will have management that works to create optimal conditions for children and staff, is close to practice and has pedagogical time in the rooms. You will have the opportunity to work in an institution that aims for development and has visions for the future. In addition, you will have engaged and professionally skilled colleagues who are curious, use and challenge each other professionally and have a high-spirited atmosphere.

We continuously work to strengthen professionalism and cohesion across the rooms, so that everyone experiences themselves as part of a house where shared pedagogy is consistent. Currently, 5 educators are participating in Marte Meo basic course throughout the autumn.

In the room where the vacant position is, you should have the desire and courage to start up a new room within existing frameworks. Emphasis is placed on your willingness to engage in professional sparring with your colleagues in the house and to help develop the learning environment from a curious and perspective-taking approach. We work a lot across the house and are there for each other collegially and professionally. So a new room and new staff will receive the support, backing and resources needed to start the room well.
