About the job

Pedagogue for Dronninggård Classes Would you like to help create a school day where the special education work makes a real difference?

Do you want to use your pedagogical expertise where it has a great impact on children and youths' opportunities to thrive, develop and be part of a community? And are you motivated by a workplace where there is room for professional ideas, curiosity and collective reflection on how we best solve the task?

Then perhaps you are the person we are looking for in Dronninggård Classes.

With us you do not only get a function in the students’ school day. You become an important part of the professional community and get the opportunity to make your pedagogical mark on both the individual student’s everyday life and on the development of our overall special education practice.

Dronninggård Classes is Rudersdal Municipality's special education school offering for normally gifted children and young people within the autism spectrum and students with similar special education needs. The provision is anchored at Holte School and has around 130 students from 0th to 9th grade and just over 70 staff.

Your pedagogical professionalism must be tangible

In Dronninggård Classes, teachers, pedagogues, management, PPR and other relevant professionals work closely together. We believe that high special education quality is created when different professionalities are actively brought into play around the child.

As a pedagogue you should therefore not only support an already defined task. We expect you to contribute with your own observations, perspectives and professional judgments and help qualify the solutions we choose.

Pedagogy is a central part of our work with students' learning, well-being, regulation, participation and development. We emphasize a collaboration characterized by mutual respect and curiosity about each other’s professionalities – because the task is best solved in a team.

Our shared view of children starts from the understanding that children do well when they can , and that difficulties must be understood in the context of the frameworks and conditions the child faces.

Students should experience a everyday life with structure, predictability and clear boundaries, but also adults who are curious about what lies behind the child’s behavior and who continuously adjust their own practice.

We are looking for you who

  • are eager to work with children and young people who need a high degree of calm, structure and predictability
  • stand solidly in your pedagogical professionalism and want to actively bring it into play
  • are focused on relationships, well-being, regulation, participation and development
  • can be curious about both the child, yourself and the pedagogical practice
  • thrive in a close cross-professional collaboration
  • can work in a structured way while being flexible when the child’s needs or the situation calls for something else
  • meet students, parents and colleagues with calm, clarity and respect
  • want to both contribute to and learn more in a strong professional environment.

You do not need to know everything about autism when you start with us. The most important is that you have pedagogical curiosity and a desire to develop your special education expertise.

What will you be working with?

Your daily life will take place close to the students and their communities.

You will among other things be involved in

  • creating safe, predictable and development-supporting frameworks around the students
  • supporting the students’ social and personal development and their opportunities to participate in communities
  • working with relationships, emotional regulation and development of independence
  • observing, reflecting on and helping to develop the pedagogical practice
  • planning and evaluating interventions together with your colleagues
  • collaborating with teachers, pedagogues, parents, management and other professionals around the individual student
  • actively contributing your pedagogical perspective to the team’s joint work around the students’ learning, well-being and development.

Working hours will include both the school day and our after-school program.

We will also develop you

We have high ambitions for Dronninggård Classes – and that also applies to our own professional development.

Therefore you do not have to handle complex special education issues alone. We prioritize professional sparring, collective reflection and supervision, and we continuously work with courses and competency development, so our knowledge and practice keep pace with the task we face.

You will become part of a workplace where we want to become more skilled – together.

With us you will get

  • great opportunity to bring your own expertise into play
  • real influence on the pedagogical practice around the students
  • colleagues who are passionate about special education and development
  • close collaboration between different professional groups
  • opportunity for professional sparring, supervision and competency development
  • a workplace where we continually examine our own practice and dare to change it when something else works better
  • a everyday life with children and youth where the relationship to the adult can make a decisive difference.
