Educator for early primary school and after-school program (SFO) - with a focus on children and an interest in special education

We are seeking a trained pedagog to join our primary school and after-school program (SFO). You may have special education experience – but your curiosity, your relational skills and your desire to learn are at least as important.

A close professional community

We are 110 students and 69 staff . The students are in 0–10th grade and are distributed across the lower, middle and upper school and a cross-cutting ASK team.

You will be part of a team where teachers, pedagogues and pedagogical assistants collaborate on teaching, play and activities. We develop our practice together and create opportunities for participation based on each child’s needs.

Our work is based on Vordingborg Municipality's shared view of children and youth. We meet the children with a view to their resources, listen to their perspectives and take responsibility for creating safe relationships and communities where they feel they belong.

Here there is room for professional questions, new ideas and humor. We take the task seriously and place emphasis on strong relationships between both children and adults.

We are looking for someone who

• Has experience with or an interest in children with autism, ADHD and socio-emotional difficulties.
• Sees the child’s resources and takes responsibility for creating a safe relationship.
• Keeps calm in difficult situations and adapts demands and support to the child.
• Contributes actively to the collaboration with colleagues, management and the child’s home.
• Wants to reflect on their own practice and develop their professional skills.

You apply for primary school and SFO, but you must be open to the fact that tasks may change and over time include other age groups.

We offer

A mentor program , which gives you a good introduction to our special pedagogical work, close team collaboration and ongoing professional sparring.

We prioritise familiar adults around the children and have fixed pedagogical assistants in the teams. We work closely with parents, foster parents and residential care facilities as well as PPR’s psychologists, speech/hearing consultants and therapists from Training and Rehabilitation.
