About the job
We are incredibly busy as we have welcomed many new students at the start of the school year. Therefore we are seeking two more skilled pedagogues - or alternatively experienced pedagogical assistants or similar helpers in 30 - 32 hours per week, who in close collaboration with a dedicated and skilled team of experienced staff want to take on the exciting tasks that accompany our student group. Is that you?
At Special Center Højmarkskolen we meet students with diverse and complex support needs. Our special classes across all year groups are designed for children with neurodivergent profiles, for example within the autism spectrum and ADHD, as well as students who thrive best in a closely structured environment with a strong focus on socio-emotional development. We are in a continuous process of strengthening our special educational profile, and we need the right staff to ensure safe environments, structured interventions and high well-being for all our students.
About the role and your tasks
As a pedagogue with us, your pedagogical competencies and professionalism will be the foundation for the students' well-being and development. Your workday will predominantly be in the school section, where you will participate across the school's classes in a close partnership with the teachers and your new team. You will also be attached to our after-school program (SFO) in a timetabled scope to support continuity in the students' day.
Your tasks
- Pedagogical leadership in the classroom: Take on the role of pedagogue/assistant/auxiliary with responsibility to create a structured, safe and recognizing school day that meets the children's individual needs.
- Collaboration and supporting teaching: Engage in a close, equal and committed collaboration with teachers and other pedagogues in the classes, including through methods such as co-teaching, action learning and Playful Learning.
- Development of the learning environment: Be curious about developing and specializing your own and the team's pedagogical approaches so that they always start from the child's resources and readiness to learn.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration: Actively participate in the broad collaboration with both internal and external parties (e.g., PPU/PPR, psychiatry, SSP, education counselors, etc.).
- Relationship and parent collaboration: Ensure a close, trusting and professional collaboration with the parents regarding the student's schooling and development, where the task dictates this.
- Bridge to SFO: Support the SFO offering to ensure the thread and a safe handover between the children's school and leisure life.
We are looking for someone who
- Is trained as a pedagogue with high professionalism, a strong ethical compass and solid experience from the special field or school sector, or who is pedagogical assistant or helper with solid experience and good competencies within the specialized area .
- Has competencies in mentalization and masters the recognizing, relationship-oriented work in meeting both students, parents and colleagues.
- Works goal-oriented and structured and can keep calm in an unpredictable daily life, including in the professional work of preventing and managing frustrations and outbursts.
- Is a strong and stable team player , who sees professional and interdisciplinary cooperation as an asset, and actively contributes with positive engagement, flexibility and a good dose of humor.
We offer
- A meaningful and dynamic workplace with focus on a strong, positive and inclusive work community.
- Skilled and experienced colleagues with diverse professional backgrounds, who value the good school and leisure environment highly and support each other in everyday life.
- Good opportunities for professional and personal development in a nuanced and exciting special educational field.
