Educator for parental leave replacement in a kindergarten

We are an exceptionally well-functioning group of staff with a close collaboration across 3 rooms with 65 kindergarten children. We have a vacant maternity cover of 37 hours per week starting 1 November 2026 to 30 April 2027.

Your main tasks

• In collaboration with the room's second pedagogue and assistant to contribute to the well-being, development and participation opportunities for all children
• You take active responsibility and contribute to a learning environment that is characterized by care, play, joy, clear organization and not least close and intimate relationships with attuned interaction
• You contribute to a close parental collaboration with focus on the individual child's well-being and development.

Your competences

We are looking for you who are educated as a pedagog. You are positive, present and acknowledging in your communication and interaction with both children, parents and colleagues. In addition, we place emphasis on:

• You have knowledge of pedagogical practice and a reflective approach to yourself and your colleagues
• Your fundamental view of children is characterized by the belief that all children can succeed and do their best in any given situation
• Have good collaboration skills, are structured, have an overview and are able to keep calm
• You can contribute to children's play skills and help support joint attention and participation opportunities for all children.

Who we are

As the only one in Ballerup Municipality, “Børnehuset Nord- og Sydpolen & Isbjerget” is separated on three sites with a physical distance. We are distributed with a nursery, a kindergarten and an age-integrated department. Therefore we are in daily life “smaller institutions” within the large.

Nordpolen is therefore a small independent department normalized for 65 kindergarten children distributed over 3 rooms. However, we have a large group of older children across the winter and spring. We are 10 staff and 1 kitchen assistant for our lunch arrangement

Nordpolen is part of District Skovvejen, located in a lovely natural area close to Harreskoven, meadow and bog. In the district there are 4 Kindergartens: Nord - and Sydpolen & Isbjerget, Ved Skoven, Lundegården and Valhalla. In total we are about 90 employees and about 400 children.

Each Kindergarten has 1 or 2 pedagogical leaders close to the core task. In addition, we have a district leader who, in close collaboration with the pedagogical leaders, handles co-creating a common direction and professional development in the district.

We have networks for nature, culture, language and practice guidance and an annual joint competence development day. In our district there are long traditions of cross-collaboration on larger activities such as It is the school-starting child, Samba procession, Potato Run, Medieval project, and more

Employment process and salary

The starting date is 1 November 2026.

The position is, as a rule, 37 hours and is a temporary position.

We offer salary and employment terms according to the agreement for pedagogues in municipalities. Employment takes place according to principles of local salary formation and after agreement with the negotiating organization.

The salary range for the position is DKK 35,990 – 43,193 per month excluding pension for full-time employment (37 hours per week).

The final salary is determined after negotiation between the employer and the trade organization that has the negotiating rights in the relevant collective bargaining area. The salary depends, among other things, on your education, documented seniority and qualifications.
