Centerklasserne v. Højvangskolen i Horsens søger en engageret pædagog, der brænder for at styrke og videreudvikle den fritidspædagogiske profil samt det pædagogiske arbejde i Centerklasserne.

We offer an exciting temporary position. The job is 37 hours per week with employment as soon as possible or no later than 1 December 2026 and until 30 June 2027. The position is linked to our middle grade teams.

As a pedagogue at Højvangskolen, well-being and participation are fundamental values and at the same time an important prerequisite for children's learning and development in daily life. We work with a focus on the whole child and pay particular attention to creating meaningful participation opportunities for all children. We want all students to experience themselves as a valuable part of the community where they can participate actively, contribute, and have influence – both in small and large communities.

In all grades in Centerklasserne, we work from an approach that focuses on the visual, the structured, the communicative – and from an appreciative approach. We also work with elements from low arousal.

We have a strong focus on actively involving children in their own learning and development. Through targeted pedagogical practice, we work with the students’ academic development, well-being and personal mastery.

In the after-school care (SFO) we place high emphasis on play. We consciously work to support children's play and create good frameworks for play communities where children can develop social skills, imagination and relationships.

As a pedagogue in Centerklasserne you will have a central role both in teaching and in the SFO. You will become part of a house team and engage in a close and committed collaboration with teachers and pedagogues to create coherent and developmental learning environments for the children.

In addition, you should be ready to continuously develop yourself in interaction with colleagues and leadership.

Højvangskolen is a well-functioning and attractive public school located in the southeastern part of Horsens with both city, countryside and fjord as nearby neighbors. Here are 800 fantastic students, of which 107 attend the center classes and 120 engaged and competent staff, giving the school a volume where all competencies come into play.

Højvangskolen is an ambitious school where staff maintain a high professional level and students and parents have a positive view of the school.

Centerklasserne is a municipal special program for students from across Horsens Municipality with challenges within ADHD and/or autism spectrum, as well as a number of smaller, less common developmental disorders. Centerklasserne covers the entire school system from 0th to 10th grade.

Centerklasserne are located in the immediate vicinity of the main school and are part of the local premises and partially pedagogical collaboration with it. Instruction is in accordance with the Danish Primary School Act – and there is the possibility to take exams in all subjects.

The community is given particularly high priority at Højvangskolen by students, parents and staff.

All staff at the main school have individual workplaces – physically located near their house-team, and flexible working hours with opportunities for a dynamic and individually tailored placement of working time.
