About the job

Educator for the nursery at Børnehuset Møllehaven

About us

Møllehaven is an integrated children's house with both a nursery and a kindergarten. We are one unified house, where the individual teams have their own communities and professional responsibilities, while we help each other and keep an eye on the whole house.

We base our approach on Hjørring Municipality's shared view of children: “Children do well when they can.” This means we are curious about the child’s perspective and what the child is trying to tell us through their actions.

Play, relationships and presence are central in our pedagogical practice. We work consciously with the adult’s participation in play and with creating learning environments where children can explore, develop and be part of the community.

We actively use our outdoor area and have a strong focus on movement. We are DGI-certified and have the hall right in the back yard, which we use as a natural part of the children’s everyday life.

Parents are important partners for us. We place emphasis on an open, trustful and professional dialogue about each child.

We are looking for

We are looking for an educator who is passionate about working with the youngest children and who wants to help create a daily life characterized by presence, play, relationships and development. You are professionally curious, take responsibility for the pedagogical practice and want to be an active part of both the nursery and the house’s community.

We particularly emphasize that you

  • Are a trained educator and want to work with 0-3 year olds
  • Take the children’s perspectives and Hjørring Municipality’s view of children: “Children do well when they can”
  • See play as central and can be present and actively participating in the children’s play
  • Can create safe, developing and inclusive learning environments and child communities
  • Have an eye for both the individual child and the child community
  • See daily routines as meaningful pedagogical situations
  • Take responsibility, show initiative and dare to set professional direction
  • Can reflect on your own practice and want to develop it together with your colleagues, e.g. through KVALid
  • Contribute actively to a strong professional community where we share knowledge and help each other
  • See parents as important partners and contribute to an open, trustful and professional dialogue
  • Want to use movement, outdoor life and our local environment as a natural part of the pedagogical practice

What can you expect from us?

With us you become part of the nursery in an integrated children's house, where we work with high professional standards, strong communities and job satisfaction. We believe that quality in pedagogical work is created together, and we prioritize daily practice and professional reflection.

With us you get

  • A nursery where play, relationships and presence are central parts of everyday life
  • Colleagues who are engaged in the children and in the shared pedagogical practice
  • Opportunity to develop your professional competence through reflection, sparring and KVALid
  • A house where we help each other and have an eye for the whole Møllehaven
  • A daily life with good opportunities for outdoor life, movement and play
  • A DGI-certified institution with the hall close by
  • A close and trusting parent collaboration, where dialogue about the child is important
  • A leader who values professionalism, dialogue, trust, security and job satisfaction
