About the job

We are seeking a trained educator who wishes to make a difference for children's well-being, development, learning and formation through close relationships, play and high professionalism.

As an educator in Valhalla we expect you to take an active part in the pedagogical work and contribute with professional reflections and initiatives that strengthen the children's participation opportunities in the community.

You have solid pedagogical expertise and keep your knowledge about children's development and learning up to date. You use your professional judgement to make professionally grounded decisions and can take on pedagogical leadership when the situation calls for it.

We seek

The pedagogical work

• Have professional knowledge about children's development and pedagogical practice.
• Actively participate in children's play and inspire its exploration and development.
• Can create and support inclusive play- and learning environments in line with the strengthened pedagogical curriculum.
• Can take responsibility for a group of children and for the well-being and development of individual children.
• Work systematically with documentation, reflection and evaluation.
• Can have responsibility for pedagogical efforts around children in vulnerable positions or with special needs.
• Ensure coherence between pedagogical goals, activities and the children's learning environment.

Collaboration and relations

• Create attentive and acknowledging relations based on the child’s perspective.
• Recognize the importance of strong communities and actively work with children's relationships and interaction.
• Professionally engage in collaboration with colleagues with a focus on the shared pedagogical responsibility.
• Collaborate constructively with multidisciplinary partners around the child or the group of children.
• Build trusting relationships with parents and create the basis for good collaboration around the child.

Goals and development

• Can set, follow up on and evaluate pedagogical goals.
• Have experience with or interest in using pedagogical methods and digital systems for documentation and data collection.

Communication

• Communicates in an acknowledging, professional and clear manner - verbally, in writing and digitally.
• Is aware of the importance of body language, facial expression and tone in meetings with children, parents and colleagues.
• Can convey and justify pedagogical choices to different audiences.
• Contributes to a feedback culture where professional perspectives are shared constructively and respectfully.

Information about starting salary

Employment is according to the collective agreement for pedagogues at day-care institutions, after-school programs, clubs, etc., §§4-9. The expected starting full-time salary excluding pension is 32,511 DKK / falls in the range 32,511 DKK to 37,458 DKK depending on seniority. Please note that final placement, including collective agreement basis and salary level, is determined based on your education and qualifications and the specific offered position.

We obtain a child certificate and a public criminal record with consent.
