Educator / Pedagogical Assistant for the Special Kindergarten Søstjernen

Specialgruppen Søstjernen is seeking a trained educator or an educational assistant for permanent employment.

Specialgruppen Søstjernen is a special day care service under the Danish Child Welfare Act § 83 for children aged 0-6 years with permanent physical and/or mental disabilities including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, FAS, mental retardation, neglect and other functional impairments. Specialgruppen Søstjernen is the most specialized offering for children aged 0-6 in Jammerbugt municipality, and as such covers a broad range of children’s issues.

Specialgruppen is normed for 8 children and at times there may be fewer or more children enrolled, as we admit the children progressively throughout the year. The staff group consists of 5 experienced educators and a department head.

Our professional focus is always a holistic approach to the individual child, ensuring the best conditions for the child’s well-being, development and learning. This is done in close collaboration with parents/ foster parents. We also have a close interdisciplinary collaboration with PPR and our physiotherapist, who regularly comes to observe, provide staff sparring, and test the children as needed. Other partners include the family department, the special department, the psychiatry, other municipalities and more.

We are looking for an educator or an educational assistant who

• preferably has special education competencies or an interest in the special education field.
• has a calm nervous system and a positive view of children, and the ability to adjust practice to what the children need.
• has good collaboration skills that support the entire staff group as a team.
• places parental collaboration high, involves it and supports it as an important resource for the child’s well-being and development.
• has strong overview, takes responsibility and adjusts to ensure that resources deliver the greatest possible benefit for the children's learning environment on any given day.
• has a flair for IT and AULA.
• is reliable in attendance and able to balance work and private life.
• asks for help and for feedback as well as seeks sparring from both colleagues and the department head.
• is professionally curious about existing practices with the inclusion of one’s own competencies.

• We are seeking an educator or an educational assistant for a permanent position of 37 hours per week - with the possibility to discuss the number of hours.
• Employment from 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
• Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
