We are looking for a professionally engaged and curious pedagogue who wants to contribute to a developing special educational environment.

About us

Edison Childcare is an integrated day care with a nursery, kindergarten and the special group Trapezerne. Trapezerne is normed for six children and three adults. We currently have five children aged 2–6 years with various diagnoses, syndromes as well as mental and physical functional impairments. The children have different developmental prerequisites and needs for close adult contact, structure and predictability.

Our pedagogical approach

We base our approach on the child’s zone of proximal development and work with an appreciative, resource-oriented and individually tailored approach.

Our special educational practice builds among other things on

• Alternative and augmentative communication, including PECS, concrete objects and pictograms.
• Intense Interaction and low arousal.
• A curious approach to TEACCH-inspired pedagogy and sign to speech.

Through structure, visual support and individually tailored activities we support the children’s communication, independence and participation opportunities.

We are looking for a pedagogue who

• Has experience with or an interest in special education and child development.
• Is professionally reflective, curious and development-oriented.
• Works from a low arousal approach and is aware of how one’s own calm supports the children’s security and self-regulation.
• Thrives with structure and predictability, but at the same time is flexible and can adapt their approach to the children’s needs.
• Can express themselves verbally and in writing at a high professional level and is familiar with IT and pedagogical documentation, including DPU, status descriptions and action plans.
• Values close collaboration with colleagues, parents and multidisciplinary partners.

We offer

We offer a workplace in professional development with the opportunity to influence the pedagogical practice.

• Close multidisciplinary collaboration with, among others, a psychologist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist and special education consultants.
• Monthly supervision with a psychologist and ongoing professional sparring.
• One hour of weekly preparation time.
• Opportunity for relevant courses and competence development based on the needs of the classroom and the children.

Salary and employment

Salary is set in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the principles for new pay.
