Educator wanted for structured afternoons with a boy in Hellerup

Do you have experience with children with autism, and are you good at creating structure and predictability? Then we are seeking a pedagogue for fixed afternoons with a boy in Hellerup.

About the task

The boy has infantil autism and thrives with clear boundaries, structure and predictability. He is outgoing and among other things likes dinosaurs, monsters, books and games such as Roblox and Minecraft. When something catches his interest, he can immerse himself in it.

The boy can have difficulty with changes and demanding situations and is easily overstimulated. He can also have trouble reading others’ signals and intentions. Therefore he needs a calm and clear approach, where you help create predictability and support him if he becomes frustrated.

Your task begins by picking him up at Hellerup School and walking home with him. The family lives about 800 meters from the school. At home he typically gets something to eat, after which you find an activity based on his interests and daily form.

You can for example go to the playground or Experimentarium, read books, play or play Roblox and Minecraft together. The important thing is that you create a safe and manageable afternoon with room for both activities and calm.

There is a tarantula in the home, and the family plans to get a dog.

About you

You are a trained pedagogue and preferably have experience with children with autism. You can create clear and predictable frameworks and meet the boy calmly and with presence.

It is important that you can be clear without pressuring and can adapt activities and expectations to the boy’s needs and daily form. You must be able to stand firm in the relationship and remain calm if he becomes frustrated.

Working hours

The position is permanent and 20 hours per week.

The working hours are Monday to Friday from 12:00–16:00.

Outside office hours there is always a staffed on-call phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the National Collective Agreement between FOA and Dansk Erhverv.
