Educators for Residential Unit 42 - Sølund Village

You will start with a course in Gentle Teaching and prevention of power.

You will have influence over your working hours and how your work time is organized.

Working hours can be

• Morning/evening shifts: 7:00/7:30 – 14:15 and 14:00 – 12:30/22:00.
• 24-hour service – sleep-in available: 12:00-12:15 next day.
• 12-hour shifts: 8:00-20:00.
• Weekend: every 2nd or 3rd weekend.

Residence 42 is a special residence under §108 for people with extensive psychiatric and social support needs and permanently reduced functioning, including brain injury, autistic traits and anxiety - partly due to traumatic experiences or lack of understanding and compensation for functional impairments and disabilities.

In residence 42, 17 people live in two houses – house 41 and 42.

8 people live in house 41, aged 20 to 76 years

9 people live in house 42, aged 19 to 72 years.

About the work and the position

We work to see the whole person. Therefore we work with assessment tools such as life histories, developmental descriptions, sensory profiles, understanding neurological difficulties and injuries, and more. Our most important tool is professional warmth/love as the basis for contact, communication, trust and relationship building. It requires us to develop both personally and professionally. We work partly to acquire relevant professional knowledge, but we also work a lot with reflection and supervision in relation to our personal development.
