About the job

Are you interested in cyber- and information security in the financial sector? Do you want to help ensure that Danish financial companies can withstand cyber- and information security threats – and thus protect financial stability? Then we need you in the Financial Supervisory Authority's office for IT security and cyber risk. We supervise IT security and IT preparedness in the financial sector, including large banks, data centers and financial infrastructure companies. At the same time we are the Authority's center of expertise for IT security and participate in international work on this.

We are looking for a new colleague with a social science background, who will join a strong team of 19 people with different professional backgrounds. You will be part of a high-profile organization that takes on a very important societal task. We offer a strong professional environment with exciting tasks, responsibility and influence – and at the same time attractive working conditions with a good balance between work and private life.

What do we expect from you?

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of cyber- and information security, but the most important is that you have an interest in cyber- and information security and want to dive into the area.

You will help carry out a range of different tasks related to IT supervision, including participating in IT inspections in financial companies together with your colleagues. The inspections are reported to the top management in the companies, and the conclusions are published. You will also be involved in the ongoing monitoring of financial companies' IT use, conduct risk assessments and assess reports about IT incidents.

The EU Regulation on Digital Operational Resilience (DORA) in the financial sector from January 2025 has led to a modernization of IT security legislation across the EU. You will contribute to supervision and help ensure that the rules are communicated well, e.g. by preparing information and guidance for the financial sector.

We help each other with the many tasks, spar with each other on professional issues and are flexible and informal.

If you can check the following four qualifications and competencies, you are a good match for the position:

  • You have an interest in cyber- and information security and want to learn more

You have, through your education or work, developed an interest in IT security and at the same time want to learn much more. In IT supervision we focus on governance rather than the technical behind it, i.e., whether companies have good processes to manage their IT security, whether they identify and manage the risks associated with their IT use, and whether management pays adequate attention to IT security. You do not have to be, for example, a network specialist.

  • You want to learn how to supervise

You will use your knowledge of IT security to assess whether companies manage their IT security sufficiently in relation to the risks they face. Therefore you must want to learn how to conduct such supervision. But don't worry – we will help you.

  • You take responsibility and collaborate

You thrive on a high degree of independence in task solving, but also on collaborating with your colleagues on the task at hand. You take responsibility for getting tasks done, but you also make sure to speak up when it gets tight so that we can find a solution together. Likewise, you help your colleagues when their tasks come under pressure. In addition, you must thrive with having several tasks going on at the same time and be able to see the charm in a new task that suddenly means that the timetable for other tasks is revised.

  • You communicate clearly

An important part of our work is the ongoing dialogue with the financial sector. Therefore it is important that you can act authoritatively and diplomatically at all levels and communicate your messages clearly to management and boards as well as to IT professionals in the sector. It is also important that you are good at phrasing yourself in writing. You will need this when you prepare reports and memos.

In addition we expect that you

  • have a relevant higher education, e.g., cand.scient.pol., cand.merc.aud. or cand.it.
  • ideally you have a few years of experience, but if you are newly graduated, with the right competencies, you can also be relevant.

What are your terms of employment?

Your employment is subject to the applicable agreement between AC and the Ministry of Finance. Depending on your qualifications you will be placed as an administrator, senior or chief consultant with the possibility of negotiating individual allowances. Upon employment you must present a criminal record.

It is a condition of employment that you can be security cleared and maintain this throughout your employment.

We have an internal career and competence program. We have flexitime, paid lunch break, canteen scheme, massage scheme, laundry scheme, free parking and football, running and badminton clubs.
