About the job

Do you have a keen eye for social welfare issues and can you deliver top-class service – then we may have the job for you.

We are seeking a full-time employee for our Administration Group in the Citizen Service. The group consists of 3 employees and your tasks will primarily involve administering in relation to “Assigned housing” – often also called emergency housing.

You will also learn a little about administering citizens' (disability pensioners and pensioners) finances, so you can help during illness and holidays and there will be lighter administrative tasks such as paying bills.

The citizen group we work with often has complex issues and a need for close interdisciplinary collaboration.

You will have daily contact with citizens and partners and you must have a good eye for social welfare issues and the ability to establish good collaboration.

In addition to what we call the “back-office tasks”, you must also have front desk expeditions minimum 10 hours per week. Here you will help citizens obtain passports, driving licences, MitID and other similar expeditions.

In the Citizen Service we are open until 18:00 twice a week. Your long working day will be Thursday and, in return, we close at 14:00 on Friday.

You must be flexible in situations where we have special tasks. For example when young foreign students need to enter the country, when there are elections and up to the summer season when many citizens need to have passports issued.

Your tasks will include

  • Assigned housing: Citizens who are in acute housing need or homeless can be admitted to the assigned housing list. We assess based on applications whether the citizen can be admitted to the list. We work closely with citizens, shelters, authority advisors and housing associations. It requires a special social-welfare perspective to handle these tasks. You must also help citizens apply for various benefits related to the assigned housing. These can include housing subsidy loans, individual benefits, housing support, etc.
  • Front desk expeditions: Here you will help citizens obtain passports, driving licences, MitID and other similar expeditions. You should also have front desk expeditions in our satellites in Gråsten and Nordborg, where we are open every Thursday
  • Telephone expeditions: We have phone hours every day during our opening hours and we aim to process as many citizens as possible over the phone, so they do not have to come in person. Citizens also have the option to request a call from us.

We expect that you

  • Have relevant education, preferably administrative with experience in social welfare issues and tasks
  • Have the ability and willingness to collaborate with citizens and other actors who may be around the citizen.
  • Have flair and understanding for digital solutions, as one of our core tasks is to work with digital inclusion
  • Wish to work in a team-based setting and can contribute to the team’s overall task solution and collaboration
  • Can thrive in a daily routine where two days are not the same

We also place emphasis on you

  • Are good at serving the individual citizen with a targeted approach
  • Are good at communicating and translating professional language into everyday language so it is easy for citizens to understand
  • Have experience in serving citizens
  • Want to serve all types of citizens, both those with easier and those with more difficult issues

In return you will receive

  • Professionally competent colleagues
  • Focus on knowledge sharing and sparring
  • Opportunities for personal and professional development
  • An informal and inclusive tone of voice
  • A management that works for an open culture where well-being and efficient task completion go hand in hand
