We are seeking an endocrinology specialist for SUH, Nykøbing F. with a seriously good opportunity to influence content and work planning according to your own wishes and in agreement with the supervising consultant.

SUH, Nykøbing F. is an exceptionally good place to work, where we know each other and have a good collaboration across departments, professional groups and specialties – both collegial and professional.

Medical Diseases department has 109 beds and the specialties: Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases, Geriatric Medicine, Respiratory Diseases, Cardiology and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Osteoporosis.

The surgeons from SUH, Køge provide outreach services as an integrated part of the department.

As of January 1, 2027, Hormone Diseases, Diabetes and Osteoporosis at Nykøbing F. will merge with the sister department in Køge, creating good opportunities for even closer professional collaboration, knowledge sharing and development of strong patient pathways across the two campuses.

In Hormone Diseases, Diabetes and Osteoporosis we currently have five specialists, full-/part-time attached to the very well-functioning endocrinology clinic with primary focus in all endocrinology areas including osteoporosis in close collaboration with SUH, Køge. In addition a really good collaboration with the other endocrinology departments in Region Zealand and the Capital Region.

The focus at the moment includes our many Steno Diabetes Center (SDCS) activities, including teleambulant activity, expansion of the regional diabetes/psychiatric fusion clinic, establishment of a clinical research unit and consolidation of the osteoporosis clinic.

The department is classified as a main functional unit in the advanced training in internal medicine: endocrinology.

The position is to be filled by a specialist in internal medicine: endocrinology, who with their professional and scientific qualifications can contribute to further developing the specialty with us.

When filling the position, emphasis will be placed on broad endocrinological and internal medical interest, as well as a desire and willingness to utilize the rich opportunities to optimize workflows and task distribution as both a structural reform and public health needs call for.

The applicant will, by agreement, be given responsibility for selected professional and managerial tasks, e.g., development projects related to SDCS.

After agreement there is the possibility of non-clinical duties at SUH, Køge and possibly home-working days.

We offer flexible working arrangements, and we are happy to accommodate opportunities to maintain and develop particular areas of interest.

At SUH, Nykøbing F. we aim to be an inspiring, developmental and sought-after training site through clinically high-quality teaching. We expect you to contribute to retaining the department's genuinely good training environment by engaging in supervision and implementing the junior doctors' further education.

We want to be the first choice for residents in the area. SUH, Nykøbing F. participates in a number of exciting projects such as “Et Liv i Balance” and “Broen til bedre sundhed” in close collaboration with Primary Health in Region Zealand as well as Guldborgsund and Lolland municipalities.

Research

SUH has an active Research Support Unit , and we are on the Nykøbing F. campus in the process of developing the local research network.
