About the job
Do you have an interest in the energy sector, and would you like to try your hand at project management? We are seeking an energy planner for our team who wants to participate in shaping the energy sector's sustainable future.
Gladsaxe Municipality is at the forefront of ensuring a green electricity and heat supply. In the future, there should be less energy consumption, and the energy that is used must come from renewable sources. It is a comprehensive transformation that must take place within a short time horizon. The municipality has, for example, as a goal to phase out oil and natural gas as quickly as possible and no later than 2030. You can read more about the objectives in Gladsaxe Municipality's Heat Plan 2030 and Strategy for a Green Transition .
It requires close collaboration between the municipality and the two utility companies Gentofte Gladsaxe District Heating and Vestforbrænding in the district heating area. We are seeking a 3-year project employee from January 1, 2027, where you will be one of two employees who function as a link between the municipality and the utility companies.
You will, for example, handle the politically decided expansions of the district heating network and prepare political items for the Climate and Environment Committee and the City Council in the energy area.
You will have your daily routine in the Environmental Department in the Corporate and Waste Team, which also handles a large task related to circular economy and increased recycling of waste.
You will
- coordinate planning and rollout of the district heating expansion in Gladsaxe Municipality through joint project management with the utility companies on the new plans. You will – together with the companies – ensure the political direction and coordinate the political processing,
- be the main contact and ensure cross-disciplinary collaboration so that district heating projects are conducted efficiently and contribute to a broad fulfillment of the municipality's objectives,
- coordinate and handle citizen inquiries across the utility companies and other departments in the municipality,
- help facilitate partnerships with, for example, homeowners associations, housing associations, and companies and work practically “in the field” with dialogue, guidance and support for owners, both when the concrete projects are planned and when they are implemented.
We emphasize that you
- have a relevant academic education and are curious about the energy sector,
- want to try your hand at project management and are willing to take part in the management and coordination of projects,
- are good at building relationships, and want to work together with others to find solutions,
- value good communication and are willing to listen and contribute to finding common directions,
- are able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, perhaps have experience from a municipality or politically governed organization,
- are interested in sustainable urban development and how this can be incorporated into future energy planning.
Who are we?
You will join a department with a high level of ambition, a positive atmosphere and a focus on collaboration across the organization.
In Corporate and Waste we are 13 employees and a team leader. We work very cross-disciplinary, and we have a good working environment with an informal tone. The ceiling is high here, and we continually value developing ourselves and our tasks.
Salary and terms of employment
The employment period is 3 years from January 1, 2027, possibly with the option of extension. The position is 37 hours per week.
Salary and terms of employment are negotiated according to qualifications and collective agreement.
In the Environmental Department there is an opportunity to work from home up to two days a week, and we naturally support access to further education and participation in networks and conferences.
