About the job

The Danish Health Authority's Quality Institute (SundK) is seeking a strong analyst for data-driven and evidence-based quality development across the health system - with a focus on cardiovascular diseases and chronic illnesses.

Would you like to contribute to strengthening quality in the Danish health system? We are looking for an engaged colleague who wants to help develop a more data-based, targeted and effective quality assurance across the sectors and actors of the health system - for the benefit of patients and citizens in Denmark.

You will play a central role in driving, analyzing, interpreting and communicating results from the clinical quality databases - and contribute to translating insights into concrete quality improvements across the health system. The work is carried out in close collaboration with health professionals, management, patients and other key stakeholders with the shared goal of ensuring high and consistent quality in the diagnostic work, treatment and follow-up for patients.

The position offers an opportunity to influence and develop the effort for people with chronic illness - currently notably by supporting the implementation of package pathways for people with chronic disease (chronic care packages) and monitoring the spread of the packages to relevant patient groups and the impact on quality for patients.

About the job

You will be employed in Quality Unit A, where the focus is on the heart area, the musculoskeletal area and chronic diseases. The unit consists of about 20 employees who work broadly with SundK’s core tasks: clinical guidelines, admission guidelines, analyses and assessments, patient safety work and clinical quality databases.

As an epidemiologist you will contribute with analytical skills in SundK and will have a varied daily routine with good opportunities to contribute to the development of both the institute's and the quality unit's work to strengthen quality, equality and coherence in the patient pathways for people with chronic diseases.

You will be attached to the Clinical Quality Bases function and will in daily practice work closely with, among others, data managers and quality consultants on the development and operation of several clinical quality databases. You will become part of steering groups in selected quality databases, where you will collaborate with health professionals, management representatives and patients on data-driven quality development.

In the steering groups you contribute to identifying and discussing central quality challenges and selecting tools to address these. In line with this you will contribute to a proper construction of quality databases, including setting up relevant and robust quality indicators that can illuminate central quality challenges.

In addition you will work with analysis and interpretation of data as well as dissemination of knowledge and recommendations to support concrete quality improvements within specific disease areas and interventions.

We offer

  • a dynamic organization in rapid development
  • an opportunity to shape the development of treatment quality for people with chronic disease
  • a diverse portfolio of tasks with both operations and development within central areas of the health system
  • strong interdisciplinary collaboration in SundK and close collaboration with health professionals and other actors across the country
  • a high professional level, commitment and good opportunities for collegial sparring
  • flexibility and influence on the planning of your tasks
  • a casual and welcoming collaborative culture.

Your tasks

You will among other things

  • Support the development, updating and implementation of clinical guidelines in the psychiatry area
  • Facilitate working groups and meetings with clinical experts and professional societies
  • Advise on choice of good topics, literature searches, evidence assessment and formulation of recommendations
  • Help translate research and evidence into practice-oriented recommendations
  • Ensure progress in guideline projects in close collaboration with the professional environments
  • Contribute to further development of methods, processes and tools in guideline work
  • Participate in cross-cutting collaborations with, among others, quality consultants and epidemiologists in SundK on quality, data and improvement of patient pathways.

Your tasks will include

  • participation in the unit's work with data-supported quality development with focus on the area of chronic diseases, including SundK’s support of chronic care packages
  • represent SundK in the steering groups of the quality databases and contribute with epidemiological methods and an improvement focus, including the definition of populations and quality indicators
  • analyze and interpret data with a view to translating results into usable knowledge and concrete quality improvements
  • present results in a recipient-focused and professionally solid manner, both in writing and orally,
  • document the contents of the databases and ensure transparency in data quality, evidence base and methodology
  • advise partners locally and nationally on data-supported quality development
  • collaborate with colleagues on quality development and prioritization in the health system, among other things in connection with the preparation of admission guidelines, clinical guidelines, analyses and assessments
  • collaborate with health system actors on quality development within the quality unit's focus areas with an eye to synergies with SundK’s other core tasks.

About you

We emphasize that you

  • have experience with quality development in the health system, preferably across sectors and professional disciplines
  • have experience with data analysis, preferably based on the national health registries
  • have worked with epidemiological methods
  • can navigate in complex settings and maintain focus on progress in the shared task
  • have insight into and interest in the organization of the health system
