About the job

We are looking for a medical secretary or health administrative coordinator for the Emergency Department at Herlev Hospital.

With us, the reception is much more than a reception. We are often patients' and their relatives' first encounter with the hospital. We meet people in situations that can be both anxious and overwhelming. Therefore, it matters how we meet them.

We are looking for a colleague who thrives at the front, creates calm, guides the way and helps patients and relatives move forward well. At the same time you are someone who naturally helps your colleagues and knows that we only succeed when we lift the tasks together.

Who are you?

You are a trained medical secretary or health administrative coordinator.

Maybe you have many years of experience, maybe you have fewer – the most important for us is that you want to develop yourself, take responsibility for your tasks and thrive in a busy everyday life with many people around you.

We hope that you

  • have a natural service mindset and enjoy daily contact with patients and relatives
  • keep calm and maintain an overview, even when the pace is high
  • work independently and have an eye for quality
  • are curious and eager to learn new things
  • contribute positively to collaboration and the work environment
  • see it as a given that we help each other across functions.

What will you be working with?

You will become part of a secretarial team with many different tasks, including

  • reception and registration of patients in our three receptions
  • guidance for patients and relatives
  • trauma secretary duties
  • CVI function with triage of acute admissions
  • registration, validation and quality assurance of patient data.
  • Critical alarm desk – alerting, including cardiac arrest and fire

What do we offer?

With us you become part of a secretarial team where we prioritize collaboration, professionalism and wellbeing highly.

We have a thorough introductory program with a mentor, so you come well into all functions. We work purposefully with competency development and give you the opportunity to continuously develop your professional competencies.

We have flexible shift planning with the opportunity to influence working hours, and you receive special allowances for working in the emergency department.

We believe that a good work environment is created by everyone. Therefore we are looking for a colleague who – like us – wants to contribute to a workplace where we help each other, share our knowledge and take responsibility for the community.

Employment

The position is 32-37 hours per week in mixed shifts with a weekend shift every 2nd or 3rd weekend.

Salary and terms of employment follow the applicable collective agreement.

Start date 1 December 2026 or by agreement.

Application deadline: 27.10.2026 at 12:00.

We conduct interviews on an ongoing basis.

If you have questions, you are very welcome to contact Health Administrative Leader Pernille Kriegsbaum Stender at [email protected] .
