About the job
Imagine that your work not only ends as strategies, recommendations and good intentions – but as new habits, stronger communities and better health opportunities in citizens' everyday lives. That's the movement we want to create in Næstved Municipality – and we are looking for you who want to help start it.
First the most important: This is not just a desk job
Of course you must be able to work strategically, methodically and evidence-based. But you must also be able to bring people, professional perspectives and organizations together around something common. For public health does not arise only in the health service – it arises in schools, leisure life, workplaces, housing areas, communities and in the small choices that become easier when the framework is right.
As our new public health consultant you will be part of the Public Health Team in Næstved Health Center. Here we work with health promotion, prevention and the framework for the good life – both close to the citizens and across a large municipal organization.
You will not be alone
You enter an engaged team where we use each other's expertise, ask curious questions and help each other translate ideas into something that works. We have high ambitions – and we believe that the best solutions are created in collaboration.
Your contact surface will be broad: colleagues across the municipality, associations, local and regional actors, business community and other partners. Some days you will analyze and structure. Other days you will facilitate, translate, negotiate direction and build followership. Often you will need to do it all at once.
What should you succeed with?
You will help make the municipality of Næstved's health policy, national recommendations and new legislation come alive in practice. Not as yet another document in the row – but as concrete initiatives that can be felt by citizens, employees and partners.
You will work from idea to action: find patterns in data, translate knowledge into direction, bring the right people to the table and get initiatives to land in a municipal reality. Themes can be wellbeing, physical activity, mental health or other areas where frameworks and communities can make health more possible for more people.
It requires analytical sense, strategic vision and the ability to create energy around a common task. You must be able to see both the big picture and the small practical steps that get something going.
If you recognize yourself here, you should read on
We do not expect you to come with all the answers in advance. But we hope you come with solid professionalism, curiosity and the desire to create solutions together with others.
You do not need to be loud – but you must be able to get others on board
- You have a relevant education at least at bachelor's level – and preferably further education that strengthens your public health toolkit.
- You have at least five years of relevant experience with public health, prevention, health promotion or related areas.
- You can drive processes forward without losing people along the way.
- You work preferably data-driven and methodical – but also know that analyses only have value when translated into action.
- You have an eye for navigating in a politically governed organization with many considerations and collaboration surfaces.
- You can translate national recommendations, legislation and knowledge into solutions that make sense locally.
- You communicate clearly – whether the target group is citizens, colleagues, management, politicians or partners.
- You build relationships, create trust and get people to see themselves in the joint task.
- You want to be an active part of a team where expertise, sparring and humor go hand in hand.
- You have a flair for IT and preferably skills in Microsoft 365, data visualization, presentation material, political cases and systematic documentation.
Why choose us?
- Because you get a job where public health is not an abstract ambition, but a concrete task.
- Because you become part of a team with high professionalism, engagement and willingness to develop new things.
- Because you get the opportunity to work both strategically, project-oriented and very practically.
- Because you get a broad contact surface and can create results together with many different actors.
- Because we have ambitions in the field of public health – and need a colleague who can help lift them.
