About the job
At the Psychiatric Center Sct. Hans we are looking for you who want shared responsibility for the leadership, operation and development of the cognitive environmental therapy and the nursing in the ward.
You will be part of Denmark's leading department for dual-diagnosis treatment, and you will work in scenic surroundings by Roskilde Fjord and Boserup Forest.
Welcome to Ward M20
You will be the assistant ward manager in Ward M20 West, where we work with treatment and care for patients with dual diagnosis. We operate from a cognitive behavioral therapeutic framework and thus value an equal collaboration with the patient and offer a multidisciplinary effort depending on the patient’s individual needs.
The patients are voluntarily admitted and motivated for treatment. The treatment courses last around 3 months. The patient course is described and recently revised. As part of the treatment, most of the patients are on home leave over the weekends.
M20 is an integrated ward with space for 25 patients. We use minimal coercion and work intensively with de-escalation. The ward is divided into 2 teams, and you will spend your daily time on the West, where there are 13 patients. In the East there is a colleague in the same position as you, and you will have a close daily collaboration with the chief nurse, the chief physician and the clinical nurse specialist.
You will be part of a staff group that has an ambitious, busy, structured and at the same time cheerful daily life. We actively and continually strive for a good working environment and take pride in being helpful, flexible, curious and engaged. We hold regular staff meetings and have two annual theme days.
Your role
You must be a role model in the ward for a multidisciplinary, engaged and social staff group consisting of both experienced and newly employed people, who are good at supporting one another.
In the role you will, in addition to the staff group, collaborate with the patients, relatives, the other employees at the center, the hospital’s other psychiatric centers and external partners.
Your responsibilities
In collaboration with the chief nurse, you will handle the managerial, coordinating and educational functions associated with the daily work in the ward.
In collaboration with the chief nurse you will have many tasks, but the primary ones will be to:
- participate in the ward’s care and treatment. Be the contact person for 3-4 patients
- create frameworks for good learning opportunities for staff and students
- implement educational and development tasks in the ward
- fulfil the chief nurse’s functions in her absence, including the acute duty roster
- ensure that the work planning accommodates that staff have the right competencies for the nursing tasks
- prioritize and delegate work tasks, participate in board meetings and initiate improvement work.
- after training, conduct group therapy and psychoeducation
- maintain a good working environment
Your qualifications
We are looking for someone who can support good wellbeing and communication in the ward and who can initiate and motivate the individual employee as well as the entire ward. In addition, you must be a licensed nurse.
We would also like you to
- focus on maintaining and further developing the professional approach and effort in the ward
- be able to remain calm and maintain an overview
- be decisive and maintain motivation – you are clear about expectations, follow up, evaluate and provide feedback
- be willing to continuing professional and personal development
- have an appreciative and respectful approach to colleagues and patients
Why should you apply for a job with us?
In this position you will have the opportunity to get to know the leadership profession – you will have plenty of opportunity to develop your leadership skills and your leadership toolbox. Depending on your prerequisites and experience, you will receive supervision and support from your chief nurse.
You will be an active participant in the leadership room and take part in regular meetings with ward management, another assistant ward manager and the clinical nurse specialist.
You will work at the Psychiatric Center Sct. Hans in Roskilde with a beautiful location by Roskilde Fjord. We have a strong focus on the surroundings' importance for activity and use our outdoor areas and the surrounding community as much as possible.
You will be part of the ERFA group with the other assistant ward managers in Department M and across the center.
Salary and terms
The position can be taken up on 1 December 2026 or by agreement.
In connection with the summer or other special situations, weekend duty can be expected a few times a year. In addition, evening shifts can be expected with regularity. You will also need to participate in the duty burden on holidays.
Salary and terms follow the collective agreement for non-management staff in the Health Sector’s area, negotiated between the Health Sector’s parties, including the Danish Nurses’ Organization and RLTN, with salary placement as a nurse.
The day department is covered around the clock, and you will therefore be scheduled with mixed shifts in accordance with the rules in the applicable working time agreement.
You will report to the chief nurse in the ward.
There is mandatory leave in weeks 29 and 30 as the ward transitions to day-hospital status during these weeks.
