About the job

We are a small house where we value differences, and we need a new piece to complete the puzzle. We have created new play environments and are especially focused on play and children's early language. We enjoy creative processes, and we cannot do without music

Your Profile

We are seeking a pedagogy assistant / shift-change student with the following qualities

• Has a focus on the children and their initiatives, it is the children who are at the centre
• Can work in a structured way with everyday routines
• Is positive, reliable and welcoming
• Contributes in everyday life – you can work independently and see what needs to be done, you don’t need to be prompted.
• Is curious and can ask questions, take guidance and wants to learn new things
• Can act calmly and have an overview in a busy day
• Is participating in children’s play
• Is willing to follow guidelines from the pedagogues in the house
• Participates in parent collaboration and talks with parents and tells stories about their children
• Participates actively in staff collaboration with observations and stories
• Is present and calm
• Co-creates a good working environment – we are in this together
• Should enjoy being outdoors, we love sun, snow and rain
• Is interested in pedagogy and children's development and well-being

We are an engaged staff group, (6 pedagogues, 5 assistants, 1 first pedagogical assistant, 1 student, 1 pedagogical leader and 1 kitchen leader), who place a high value on humor. We walk around the building and say good morning when we arrive, and also say goodbye when we leave. We prioritise a high level of professionalism and work with the aim of continuously developing the pedagogical practice. The starting point is always the individual child and the needs of the child group.

Through sparring and reflection we determine which initiatives can improve our learning environments and create well-being, development and learning for the children. We value a good working environment where we speak with each other and not about each other. We work with the City of Aarhus values: Credibility, engagement and respect, and it is important to us that children and parents meet with presence, security and openness when they come to the nursery.

We are outdoors in all kinds of weather and value that the staff also go first in showing that all weather is play weather.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Final salary setting takes place after negotiation with the negotiating trade organization based on qualifications, unless the position is covered by a pre-agreement that can form the basis for the salary setting

Weekly hours: 37 hours and 30 hours for shift-change students

About us

Vuggestuen Silkeborgvej is the first municipal one of its kind in Aarhus. We live in some homely and cozy settings in a housing block with a wonderful, easily approachable play area. We are part of a day care with 8 departments. We are 32 children and the children are attached to two rooms, where they have their base. The children often explore the house and meet other children and adults. We have a fixed daily structure, but there is also room for the impulsive and spontaneous. The most important focus is to create well-being, development and learning for all children.
