Are you our new apprentice in the cow barn at Gråsten Agricultural School?

Do you want to become proficient with cattle and have an apprenticeship where you get responsibility, work with technology and become part of a strong working community? Then we may have the apprenticeship for you.

We are looking as soon as possible for an apprentice for our barn with 200 dairy cows. Most importantly you should want to learn, take responsibility and become really skilled at cattle. In return you will have plenty of opportunities to develop both professionally and personally.

You’ll be close to modern dairy farming

In the barn we continually work with new technology and development of the production. As an apprentice you will therefore gain experience with many aspects of a modern dairy operation and will, among other things, work with:

• care, health and management
• milking and feeding with the barn's robotic technology
• harvest, fieldwork and vegetable production to a lesser extent, if you want.

An apprenticeship where you also work with other youths

One of the special things about being an apprentice with us is that you take your agricultural education at an agricultural school. Here, the school's students use the dairy barn in lessons and thus become a natural part of your workday. As you get to know the farm and the routines, you also take on a role in helping students when they have lessons in the barn. Therefore the apprenticeship is ideal for you who also enjoy teaching others and like being with other students.

Who are you?

We do not expect you to know everything from day one. The most important thing is that you want to learn and become really proficient.

For us it is important that you

• are curious about modern dairy farming and agricultural technology
• are conscientious and persistent, even when the workday starts early
• can take responsibility and over time work independently
• want to work together with both colleagues and the school's students
• meet others with good humor and contribute to the community.

What do you get with us?

You get an apprenticeship with high professional standards, good colleagues and good working conditions, where you have the opportunity to develop, take responsibility and be professionally challenged. You can also live at the school in student housing with your own toilet.

On weekdays you work in shifts: early morning and morning, or morning and afternoon. You also participate in weekend work every 3rd weekend from 05:00 - 09:00 and 15:00 - 17:00.
