About the job

Would you like to work closely with the political agendas in the area of primary education? Do you want to be involved in creating the best frameworks for municipalities in the children and youth sector, and do you thrive at the intersection of development, advocacy and strong communication? Then you may be our new colleague in KL’s Office for Children, Youth and Primary Education.

KL's Office for Children, Youth and Primary Education handles tasks across the entire 0-25 year area with the aim of creating the best conditions for municipalities to run day care, leisure offers, primary school and youth policy.

The primary school is high on the political agenda, and therefore we are seeking 1-2 new colleagues who can help us fulfil the ambition to strengthen the quality of Danish primary education.

Would you like to work with advocacy on behalf of the municipalities?

We are seeking experienced consultants for our team of capable and engaged consultants. Your tasks will lie within KL’s political and professional advocacy on the children- and youth area with main emphasis on the primary school. Here we work with everything from the content and quality of teaching, recruitment agenda, school attendance and strengthened general children’s communities to AI's role in the primary school – and everything in between. Specifically, you will among other things work with:

  • KL's policy on the children- and youth area, including preparation of cases for KL's political committee, management, contact committee, etc.
  • Advocacy in relation to Christiansborg, ministries, organisations, etc.
  • Maintaining and developing relations and collaboration with municipalities, ministries, stakeholders, knowledge environments, etc.
  • Preparation and implementation of conferences, theme days, dialogue meetings, etc. and preparation of inspirational materials
  • Support the municipalities through development partnerships across municipalities

About you

The tasks in the office span a wide range from advocacy, political support, policy formulation and projects to developing and hosting theme days and conferences. Working with KL’s advocacy is formed in close collaboration with the rest of the organization. The ability to see and collaborate across disciplines is a prerequisite for achieving results in KL.

From this we therefore place emphasis on you

  • Have solid political understanding and can navigate safely in an organization with many stakeholders.
  • Have a long social sciences or another relevant advanced education, write well and are good at outward-facing contact required in collaboration with both members and partners.
  • Have 3-5 years of experience with the primary school area and advocacy, e.g. from central administration, an advocacy organization, Christiansborg or similar.
  • Know the political arena of which KL is a part.
  • Work independently, have a strategic perspective, are analytically strong and imaginative, can work with short deadlines and are a good team player.
  • See the value of collaboration with other disciplines and have particular focus on the coherence across the 0-25 year area.

Who are we

You will become part of a office with a strong professional environment, and you will have 25 engaged colleagues. We offer a challenging and varied job, where you get responsibility, good development opportunities and influence on the content of your job. We share knowledge, help each other, focus on collaboration and on giving each other constructive input and challenge, so that we find the best solutions for the benefit of the municipalities.

We sit in open-plan offices, which support this way of working, and we all have occasional travel days. We have an informal tone, and we are good at making room for a laugh in a busy everyday life.

The practical

Does the position sound like something for you? Then send us your application no later than Wednesday 21 October 2026.

We expect the first round of interviews to be conducted on 26 October 2026, and the second round on 28 October 2026. We hope to be able to welcome our new colleague as soon as possible.

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective agreement with the possibility of negotiating allowances based on personal qualifications.
