About the job
Can you create momentum, ideas and local support in a changing landscape? Are you motivated by motivating? By developing and leading a project with many stakeholders? And are you, like us, wild about Thy's rugged nature? Then we have an exciting position!
Denmark is in the midst of a major transformation of the landscape. If the changes are to be successful, it requires not only a new administration – it also requires local understanding, participation and co-ownership. This is what Nationalparkfond Thy would like to help ensure. Therefore we are looking for an experienced project manager for a three-year project that aims to strengthen local co-ownership of a nature in transformation. The project shall develop and test new ways to create dialogue, participation and local anchoring together with the citizens who live amid the changes.
About you
You are an experienced project manager who can both keep track of the project and develop it. You must be able to translate an ambitious project description into concrete activities and processes, create momentum and keep track of finances, agreements and deliverables. At the same time you must have the desire and ability to develop new communication formats, seek collaborators and build relationships with the many people and organizations the project will involve.
The position thus requires both structure and a good deal of entrepreneurial spirit. You must be able to thrive with some things predetermined, while much else must be developed with the project's partners and target groups.
You also will play a central role in the collaboration with Aalborg University and the project’s PhD students, who through follow-up research will examine the effect of the project’s efforts.
We expect you to have a master’s degree, but which one is not decisive. The crucial thing is that you can document experience in leading complex development projects with several partners and involving processes with many stakeholders.
We especially emphasize that you have
- Documented project leadership experience from complex development projects where several partners, organizations and target groups have participated.
- Strong financial and governance discipline. In control of budget, milestones, agreements, decision proposals, reporting and deadlines.
- Experience with process design and facilitation. Ability to develop and drive different communication and participation formats, workshops, citizen involvement, local networks.
- Good relationship skills. Can build trust among very different target groups, navigate between disciplines and cooperate widely.
- A strong drive. Comfortable with proactive outreach, and motivated to translate an overarching project description into concrete actions.
- Good written and oral communication skills. Knowledge sharing will be an important part of the project.
- Independence and decisiveness.
Experience with nature communication is an advantage but not a requirement.
The position and terms of employment
The project 'When the landscape changes' is supported by Novo Nordisk Fonden with 7 million DKK. It is owned by Nationalparkfond Thy and carried out within Naturalliancen Thy-Hanherred, where foundations, municipalities, the Danish Nature Agency and Nationalparkfond Thy collaborate on developing more coherent nature.
The workplace is Nationalparkfond Thy, where you will report to the park’s manager, Else Østergaard Andersen.
The place of employment is Nationalparkcenter Thy, Vesterhavsgade 168, Nr. Vorupør, 7700 Thisted. Here you will share an office with the park's other staff.
Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic collective agreement).
Start date is January 1, 2027. This is a fixed-term position for 3 years - the project duration – ending December 31, 2029. Working time is 37 hours/week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be expected.
You must have a driver's license for passenger cars and the ability to provide a car yourself for work.
