Can you build relationships – and at the same time stay true to the professional task?

We are looking for skilled and engaged regular temporary staff at 2-15 hours per week for the Ungetilbuddet Sofiebo and Visborggårdvej in Aalborg SV.

With us, a regular temporary staff member is not just an extra person on the duty roster. You will become part of the pedagogical efforts around young people who are in the process of developing skills and finding their path into adulthood.

Therefore we are looking for you who already have experience from the educational, social, or special education field, and who can enter the tasks with professionalism, responsibility and an understanding of your professional role.

You do not necessarily have to be a trained educator. But you must have relevant experience and be able to translate it into practice.

What is the task?

At Sofiebo and Visborggårdvej, young people with different functional impairments live. They are at different stages in their development, but they share a common goal: to achieve as much independence as possible and a meaningful adult life.

It can involve everything from structure and daily routines to personal hygiene, cooking, cleaning, finances, social relations, education, employment, and participation in leisure and community activities.

As a regular temporary staff member, you must be able to step into the existing pedagogical effort and support the goals and agreements surrounding each young person.

That means you must be able to assess

When should I support? When should I motivate? When should I be clear? And when should I step back so the young person has the opportunity to succeed on their own?

You should not take over tasks that the young person can master themselves. Your task is to create the рамес that enable the young person to develop new skills.

About the organization

Sofiebo and Visborggårdvej are part of Botilbud Aalborg in the Center for Life Power (Fagcenter for Livskraft).

We work based on Recovery-Oriented Rehabilitation (ROR) and use, among others, mentalization and LA2 as professional approaches.

This means that we are curious about what lies behind the young person’s actions and reactions. We work with resources, motivation, mastery, and development while also considering our own impact in the relationship.

As a regular temporary staff member, you are not expected to be expert in all our professional methods from the first shift. But we expect you to have a basic pedagogical understanding, be able to reflect on your own practice, and be eager to develop your professionalism.

More about the job and your new workplace

You will be attached to both Sofiebo and Visborggårdvej and must therefore be able to work flexibly across the two offerings.

The working hours will primarily be in the afternoon, evening and weekend as well as shifts in connection with vacations, illness and other absence.

We are seeking regular temporary staff who, after an introduction, can work independently and professionally in the task.

That means among other things that you must be able to

• engage professionally in the relationship with the individual young person
• work according to existing pedagogical goals, plans and agreements
• observe changes in well-being and behavior and respond appropriately
• create structure and predictability
• motivate without taking over
• handle boundary-setting calmly and respectfully
• document relevant observations
• pass on essential information to your colleagues
• collaborate with the regular staff and contribute to continuity around the young person.

We expect that you

• Have relevant experience from the pedagogical, social-pedagogical, psychiatric or specialized area.
• Have experience with people with functional impairments or other complex support needs.
• Can approach tasks with professionalism – even if you work as a temporary staff member.
• Have an understanding of professional relational work and can distinguish between being personal and being private.
• Are stable, responsible and show up to work with the capacity to support others.
• Can maintain calm and an overview when a situation changes or becomes difficult.
• Can work independently while also knowing when to seek sparring from a colleague.
• Can follow professional agreements while using your own judgment.
• Can receive feedback and reflect on your own role in interaction with the young person.
• Can express relevant observations orally and in writing.
• Have initiative and can create meaningful activities together with the young people.
• Would preferably have interests or competences in areas such as sport, fitness, gaming, music, cooking, creativity or outdoor life.

A pedagogical education is an advantage, but not a requirement. Relevant experience is a prerequisite.
