Nutrition Assistant for the Kitchen at Sølund Care Center (maternity leave cover)

Are you a nutrition assistant with a sense for good craftsmanship and a desire to work with climate-friendly and organic food from scratch?

In the kitchen at Madam Blå at the Sølund Nursing Home we are looking for a skilled nutrition assistant or chef. Madam Blå is an organic kitchen where season, taste and quality are in the foreground. We produce freshly prepared good everyday food all year round. Our elderly food is characterized as “Grandma’s food with a bite.” We focus on the production of dysphagia meals and prepare food with multiple textures.

We produce daily meals for 220 residents spread over two campuses, for our cozy cafe and activity center as well as for many events and meeting services for our administration. We have 14 staff in the kitchen – baker, chef, nutrition assistants, coordinator, apprentices and unskilled workers.

As a nutrition assistant at Madam Blå you will have the opportunity to work in a versatile position where two days are not the same. We emphasize that you have an overview and can create structure in your tasks. You must have a kitchen-related education.

• must be able to understand the users' needs and comply with them

An ambitious house with a focus on quality, development and aesthetics

As a kitchen we are ambitious, and see it as our foremost task to create good and tasty food for Sølund's residents, external customers and guests in the cafe. We follow the City of Copenhagen's goals for ecology and climate and The Good Meal, therefore most of our food is prepared from scratch, and we are 92% organic and have the organic gold label.

We have our own bakery, so residents get freshly baked bread every day. In addition to daily production we collaborate around larger events with the rest of the house. We deliver three-course gourmet menus for our parties and barbecue in the garden for the neighborhood festival and Midsummer.

We go to great lengths to ensure residents and guests have a good experience at every meal, and all facets are considered – including taste, appearance, texture, atmosphere and social aspects. The meal is a central focus area for the whole house, where we follow, but also help to develop, the new trends in elderly nutrition. We have a creative approach to our production, therefore there must be room for experimentation.

Employment terms

Salary and terms of employment are according to the applicable collective agreement. When employed, we will request a criminal record.

The position is a maternity leave cover for 37 hours per week with start as soon as possible. Shifts are from 7.00-14.24 and only weekend duty every 6th week.
