Estimator for Contractor Projects

We are seeking an estimator who can translate tender documents, drawings and quantities into thorough and realistic cost estimates.

ABOUT THE JOB

As an estimator you will be an important part of our bids and estimating work, where you will be responsible for calculating and pricing our earthworks and civil engineering tasks. You will get close to both the projects and the daily operations and must be able to translate tender material and quantities into realistic calculations that can be implemented in practice.

You will play a central role in the interaction between bids, production and project management, where your understanding of earthworks, machinery and contractor operations helps ensure that we deliver well-developed and competitive bids.

In addition, you will work with

• Take-offs and costing for subcontract, main contract and turnkey (total) contracts
• Perform calculations for excavation, backfilling, terrain leveling and removal of soil
• Review and analyse tender materials
• Obtain prices from subcontractors and suppliers
• Carry out risk assessments and ensure robust economics in the bid
• Participate in site visits and contract meetings
• Prepare prequalification material
• Handover bids to project and construction managers

Projects range widely, from sewer and concrete to commercial construction and infrastructure.

We are looking for an estimator who is not only sharp with numbers but also eager to be a key person in our projects. You will be part of a small estimator team of 2 estimators and a bids manager, who assist our operations departments in bid calculations.

YOUR PROFILE

• You preferably have experience with complex construction projects and maybe a bit of hands-on site experience
• Is systematic, analytical and good at keeping an overview
• Has flair for economics and risk management
• You have the ability to work collaboratively, but can also take the lead when required
• You are proficient in Danish, written and spoken
• You have a education as a building constructor, engineer or structural designer
• Do you have about 5 years of experience with estimation and bid writing? Great!

If not – but you are curious, engaged and have a flair for numbers and the construction industry? Then it is also approved.

It is an advantage if you have experience with earthworks and civil engineering.
