Estimator with green background – bids and post-calculation

About us

Frederiksberg Gardeners and Road Service is Frederiksberg Municipality's own operations company. We take care of the city's green areas, roads, cleaning, cemeteries and sports facilities, and solve tasks for both the municipality and internal customers such as Frederiksberg Municipality's self-governing institutions. We are a practical- and operations-oriented workplace where decisions are translated into action out in the city.

Your tasks

You will be responsible for bids and calculations on our green tasks and construction tasks. You will be responsible for post-calculation across the company. Your tasks will include:

• Prepare bids and calculations for green operational tasks, new development and projects, including site inspection and quantity surveying.
• Review the bid with the responsible operations manager and hand over tasks to be carried out.
• Post-calculate cases, contract areas and cost work, so we can see the connection between the bid and actual consumption.
• Provide feedback to the operations managers and make suggestions on how we calculate more accurately in the future.
• Develop and maintain our calculation basis (time standards, material prices and machine hours).
• Quality-assure area descriptions.
• To obtain excavation permits and exercise control over the road for the tasks being calculated.

The position has no personnel responsibility. The execution of the tasks is owned by the operations managers, to whom you are the professional and financial sparring partner, ensuring that the basis is in order. You report directly to the operations manager.

We expect that you

• Have a green professional education – e.g. as a landscape gardener (preferably with further education as soil/agriculture technologist or landscape gardener technician), urban landscape engineer, garden and park engineer, landscape architect or equivalent.
• Have experience with bidding and calculation, preferably from a landscape contractor or construction company or from a consulting firm or municipal operations organization.
• Are strong in Excel and used to working in an financial or case-system (we use Navision).
• Are structured and can keep an overview of many cases at once.
• Dare to give honest feedback when the numbers don’t add up, and do it in a way that creates learning.
• Have a driver's license for a regular car.

It is not crucial whether you come with field experience or with an engineering or technician education in your background; we are interested in competencies from both paths. If you do not have experience with road and cleaning areas, we will teach you. The green professional knowledge and understanding of calculation are the most important.
