Experience and Communications Manager for Billund Sports Center

Do you have a flair for events, hosting, café operations and communication – and can you both come up with ideas and make them happen?

Billund Idrætscenter is seeking an Experience and Communications Manager who will play a central role in creating life, activity and good experiences in the building. The position is 37 hours per week.

You will be responsible for our events and arrangements – from idea and planning to coordination and execution. At the same time you will be responsible for our SoMe (social media) and the daily operation of the café.

The position thus has two strong legs: events, arrangements and communication, as well as café operation and hosting.

Events, arrangements and communication You will be responsible for developing, planning and delivering events and activities at Billund Idrætscenter.

These can be meetings and conferences, corporate events, sports and family activities or new concepts that you help create yourself. You will follow the events from the initial idea or inquiry to the finished execution and have an eye for the guest experience, details and the finances.

You will also be responsible for our SoMe , where you will create visibility around the activities and tell the good stories from the place.

Café, operations and hosting The café is an important gathering point at Billund Idrætscenter and constitutes a significant part of the role.

You will be responsible for the daily operation and development of the café, including purchasing, assortment, self-inspection, duty roster and staffing. As a starting point you will actively participate in café staffing two days a week.

We want a café with good operations and economy, but also a place with hosting and atmosphere where guests feel like staying a little longer.

Your key tasks

• Responsible for the development, planning and execution of events and arrangements
• Coordination of meetings, conferences, corporate events and activities
• Development of new concepts and event packages
• Dialogue with customers and partners before, during and after events
• Responsible for Billund Idrætscenter’s SoMe and communications
• Responsible for the operation and development of the café
• Purchasing, assortment, self-inspection, duty roster and staffing

Who are you? Your educational background is not decisive. You may have experience from events, conferences, café, catering, hotel, communications or similar.

The most important is that you are flexible, take responsibility and make things happen. You can create structure around an event, keep track of details and at the same time ensure that guests and partners feel well received.

You have a good financial sense, flair for communication and social media, and a desire to develop both our events and café.

And you thrive in a varied everyday life where some days you work with planning and communication – and other days you are in the middle of an event or helping in the café.

Since activities do not always take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., evening and weekend work will occur.

A new chapter for Billund Idrætscenter As of January 1, 2027, Billund Idrætscenter will become a self-governing institution. It opens a new chapter with opportunities to develop the building, create new activities and collaborations, and strengthen Billund Idrætscenter as a vibrant meeting point.

Here, school, associations, citizens, businesses and guests meet around sport, community, café, meetings and events.

As our new Experience and Communications Manager, you will come in from the start and have a real opportunity to shape which events and experiences we will create in the future.
