About the job
Would you like to help ensure that all children and young people develop academically, thrive and have a good schooling experience? Could you imagine a meaningful job where, through implementing political agreements and legislation, you help strengthen the quality of the nation's primary schools? Then you may be our new colleague in the Center for Primary Education.
About us and the task
In the Agency for Education and Quality we work to translate political agreements and legislation into practice, and that schools and educational institutions deliver high quality and comply with the rules. We do this through the following core tasks:
- As bridge-builder between policy and practice, we ensure that ministerial support and sector support are knowledge-based, have oversight and view of the whole.
- As an authority we support the sector in knowing and complying with the statutory requirements for their work, as well as in planning effective operation with good quality. We conduct supervision for the sake of pupils and students. And we administer grants and support schemes effectively and correctly.
- As a quality developer , we stand on a foundation of deep insight into rules, knowledge and data. We translate legislation and political ambitions into content in subjects, tests and examinations as well as the design of education. And we support the sector in translating all of this into good quality in teaching and pedagogical practice.
Center for Folkeskole plays a central role in this work. We work, among other things, with implementation of political agreements, rule development, ministerial support and guidance of the sector in the primary school area.
The coming years will bring a number of exciting tasks. Leading up to summer 2027 we are working on preparing that all primary schools adopt new subject plans, just as we will contribute to the implementation of new rules on, among other things, absenteeism and special education, bans on mobile phones, as well as the school's care responsibility and access to physical intervention. Other tasks concern a more practical school, use of AI in teaching, and implementation of initiatives in the government program, e.g. on academic uplift in the 100 schools where students perform worst in Danish and mathematics.
About the position
We are seeking a number of experienced ACs with an interest in primary education. We seek both generalists and specialists who have insight into primary education, children and young people in vulnerable positions, subjects and teaching, handling of quantitative data or legal guidance. What unites the positions is that we need new colleagues who can lead projects, ensure progress and devise solutions to the challenges we meet in practice.
Your tasks may include
- Project management and implementation of initiatives that aim to support the quality of the country's primary schools. For example development projects to strengthen schooling for children and young people in vulnerable positions, digitization and AI in teaching, more practical schooling or dissemination of knowledge about what works in teaching students with reading or math difficulties. In concrete terms, the project management task could consist of entering into agreements with external partners, supplier management, ensuring progress, quality assurance, involving stakeholders and relevant professional communities, and communication aimed at the political level, municipalities and schools.
- Supervision of municipalities' quality agreements with the special education provisions, where we continuously handle cases and at the same time develop the supervision.
- Strategic communication to municipal administrations focusing on providing clear guidance on the rules and inspiring good practice.
- Response to requests for access to documents, press inquiries and inquiries from municipalities about the rules in the primary school area.
- Preparation of regulations and contributions to bill proposals.
- Preparation of professional contributions to political initiatives or responses to parliamentary questions
- Collaboration with partners and stakeholders in the primary school area as well as other authorities.
Depending on your experience, you will have the opportunity to quickly take independent responsibility and specialize within different parts of the primary school sector.
About you
You have a relevant master's degree, e.g. political science, sociology, education science, anthropology, pedagogy, law or similar educational background. We would like you to have experience from, for example, central administration or a municipality. It would also be an advantage if you have experience with and/or insight into the education field.
We place emphasis on the following
- have good communicative skills and understand how to communicate from the recipient's perspective,
- have strong methodological and analytical abilities and can use data and knowledge systematically in your task solving,
- can coordinate and ensure progress in your tasks,
- are driven by collaboration with your colleagues and readily lend a hand, even when the pace is high,
- and at the same time you work independently, in a structured way with good judgment and take responsibility for your own tasks.
Why you should choose us
With us you get
- an exciting and meaningful job with great societal importance
- a daily life with great variety
- strong professional communities and good sparring opportunities
- opportunity for both specialization and breadth in the primary school area
- good opportunities for personal and professional development, including trying your hand at different tasks.
We have an informal tone and a work environment characterized by high professionalism, collaboration and engagement.
