About the job

Do you want to work closely with the political agendas in the primary school sector? Are you eager to help create the best framework for municipalities in the children and youth area, and do you thrive at the intersection of development, advocacy and strong communication? Then you may be our new colleague in KL's Office for Children, Youth and Primary School.

KL's Office for Children, Youth and Primary School handles tasks across the entire 0-25 age area with the goal of creating the best frames for municipalities to run day care, leisure facilities, primary school and youth policy.

Primary school is high on the political agenda, and therefore we are looking for 1-2 new colleagues who can help us realize the ambition to strengthen the quality of the Danish primary school.

Do you want to work with advocacy on behalf of municipalities?

We are seeking experienced consultants for our team of skilled and engaged consultants. Your tasks will lie within KL's political and professional advocacy in the children and youth area with main emphasis on primary school. Here we work with everything from the content and quality of teaching, recruitment agenda, school absenteeism and strengthened general children's communities to AI's role in the primary school - and everything in between. Specifically you will, among other things, work with:

  • KL's policy in the children and youth area, including preparation of cases for KL's political committee, management, contact committee etc.
  • Advocacy in relation to Christiansborg, ministries, organizations etc.
  • Maintaining and developing relations and collaboration with municipalities, ministries, partners, knowledge environments etc.
  • Preparation and execution of conferences, theme days, dialogue meetings etc. and preparation of inspirational materials
  • Support the municipalities via development partnerships across municipalities

About you

The tasks in the office span wide from advocacy, political service, policy formulation and projects to developing and hosting theme days and conferences. Working with KL's advocacy is shaped in close collaboration with the rest of the organization. Ability to see and collaborate across professional areas is a prerequisite for achieving results in KL.

Based on this we therefore emphasize that you

  • Have good political understanding and can navigate safely in an organization with many stakeholders.
  • Have a long social science or another relevant higher education, write well and are good at outward contact required in collaboration with both members and partners.
  • Have worked with the primary school area, political servicing and advocacy and have e.g. worked in the central administration, a municipality, an interest organization, at Christiansborg or similar, and have several years of experience.
  • Know the political arena KL is part of.
  • Work independently, have a strategic perspective, are analytically strong and creative, can work with tight deadlines and are a good team player.
  • Can see the value of collaboration with other subject areas and especially have a view of the coherence across the 0-25-year area.

Who we are

You will become part of an office with a strong professional environment, and you will have 25 engaged colleagues. We offer a challenging and varied job where you get responsibility, good development opportunities and influence on the job content. We share knowledge, help each other, focus on collaboration and on giving constructive feedback so we find the best solutions to benefit the municipalities.

We sit in open-plan offices that support this way of working, and we all have some travel days from time to time. We have an informal tone, and we are good at making room for a laugh in a busy daily life.

The practical

Sounds like the job is for you? Then send us your application no later than Wednesday 21 October 2026.

We expect the first round of interviews to be held on 26 October 2026, and the second round on 28 October 2026. We hope to welcome our new colleague as soon as possible.
