Experienced Data Engineer for Azure Databricks platform

At SEGES Digital we are seeking a Data Engineer with at least 3 years of experience for our DataEstate platform, which is based on Databricks and Azure. We are looking for you who can build solid data solutions and want to help create more value with data in close collaboration with the rest of the organization.

About the position

In Data & Analytics we are responsible for developing, maintaining and operating data solutions on our DataEstate platform. We provide data foundations, pipelines and platform components to internal product teams, advisors and experts, and work closely with Data Science to translate data and AI into practical solutions.

As a Data Engineer you will play a central role in further developing a modern data platform where we collect, enrich and make data accessible across the organization. You will develop new solutions in close collaboration with colleagues in Innovation and Digital as well as external customers such as the Danish agricultural advisory services.

The role suits you who have several years of practical experience and now want more responsibility for quality, operation, architectural choices and good development processes. You do not need to know everything from day one. The most important is a solid technical foundation, a desire to learn and the ability to develop solutions together with others.

Your role

As a Data Engineer you will have broad responsibility with focus on development, operation and support of the DataEstate platform. You will especially work with:

• Clarification, refinement and design of development tasks and projects
• Development and maintenance of existing solutions
• Development of new features and upgrading the platform
• Development of data pipelines, data models and platform components in Databricks and Azure
• Collaboration with Product Owner, data scientists and professional experts to translate needs into concrete data deliveries
• Help create insight and access to data across the organization
• Use of AI tools to streamline development, documentation, testing and debugging

We would like you to bring

You have at least 3 years of experience with Data Engineering, preferably with Databricks, data lake or lakehouse, and you have worked with solutions where data quality, operation and scalability are important. You do not need to be able to do everything from day one, but we expect you to have a solid technical foundation, take responsibility and be eager to learn new things.

You preferably have practical experience using AI as an active part of development work on the Databricks platform, for example for code generation, documentation, testing, debugging or optimization of notebooks.

You learn quickly, both about the domain, technologies and the processes we work with. You are curious and keep up with developments in modern data technology. You thrive in an agile team where collaboration, professional sparring and shared responsibility are crucial for success.

It is an advantage, but not a requirement

You may have experience with several parts of the development lifecycle and can communicate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You have worked with technologies such as SQL, Python, Databricks, Azure, ETL/ELT, CI/CD, dimensional modelling or automation.

You may also be familiar with Azure components such as Storage, service principals, managed identities, security groups, Key Vault, Data Factory or Functions.

Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have an interest in data structure, data modelling and architecture design.
