Experienced educator for the infant room at Magdalene Haven in Sorø

Do you have experience in the nursery sector, and are you passionate about creating safe, present, and developmentally stimulating environments for the youngest children? Then it might be you we are looking for.

In Magdalene Haven we are seeking an experienced educator for our nursery, where the children are about 1½–3 years old.

We are a day care institution in Sorø with both a nursery and a kindergarten, where we work from a shared wish to create high quality in pedagogical practice. With us, presence, care and good relationships are central in our work with the children.

Who are we?

In Magdalene Haven we work from the perspective that all children should feel seen, heard and valuable in the community. We base ourselves on each child’s prerequisites and strengths and create learning environments where play, relationships, participation and the child’s perspective are central.

We focus on how we as adults can adjust our practice to support the children’s well-being, development, learning and formation.

We are looking for you who

• are educated as an educator and preferably have several years of experience from the nursery area
• want to work with children aged about 1½–3 years
• meet the children with presence, care and recognition
• can create safe relationships and at the same time have an eye for each child’s development
• can see behind a child’s actions and be curious about what the child is trying to tell us
• want to reflect on your own practice and actively participate in professional discussions
• can work in a structured way and create predictability for the youngest children
• see parent collaboration as an important part of the pedagogical work
• contribute to a work environment where we support each other, help each other and share our professional knowledge
• see value in cross-collaboration and contribute to the shared pedagogical work throughout the house.

Cross-collaboration

Although you will be attached to one of our nursery groups, we expect you to have an eye for the entire nursery and Magdalene Haven as a whole.

We have three nursery groups, and it is important to us that we collaborate across the groups. Therefore, you should be willing to engage in close cooperation with the other two nursery groups, where we help each other, share knowledge and create continuity for the children.

At the same time, it is important that you want to collaborate with the kindergarten so there is a coherent daily rhythm for the children and smooth transitions between the nursery and the kindergarten.

We view cross-disciplinary collaboration as a strength and an important part of our professional community. We believe we become better together when we share our perspectives, help each other and take joint responsibility for the pedagogical task.
