About the job
Would you like to be a legal adviser for the university's educational governance and work with case processing in disciplinary matters, access to information and educational law?
Educational Law in Studiekvalitet seeks an experienced lawyer for a permanent full-time position with start 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible.
Your tasks
As a lawyer in Educational Law you will be part of a professionally strong team that works with administrative law, educational law and data protection.
Your main tasks will be
- Case processing of disciplinary cases , including behaviour cases and exam cheating
- Handling of access to information cases and assessment of exemptions, duty of confidentiality and data protection
- Legal advice to the educational leadership , e.g. in connection with the candidacy reform
- Other educational law tasks: student complaint cases, legal review of study regulations and ongoing guidance to study boards and study leaders and colleagues in the organization
You will work closely with both management and academic environments, where you help create coherence between law, strategy and everyday life. Tasks are solved in close collaboration with your colleagues, where you distribute cases, discuss difficult questions and continuously develop common practice.
Your competences
You have a relevant master's degree such as cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur. and several years of experience with legal case processing from a public authority or another large organization. You have solid knowledge of administrative law and are used to translating the rules into well-founded decisions.
You enjoy working with complex and sometimes sensitive cases, where there can be strong interests and high attention. In disciplinary cases regarding behaviour and exam cheating you are expected to remain calm and maintain an overview, even when cases are conflictual or principled. You have robustness in your approach, which allows you to stand firm on legal quality and rule-of-law considerations, while showing propriety and respect for the people affected. Your judgment is well developed, and you can make trade-offs where law, practice and organizational considerations must work together.
You have good organizational and strategic understanding. You can see how legislation, political agreements and internal rules affect the university's daily life, and you want to help shape how new rules (including the candidacy reform) are implemented at Aalborg University.
You work systematically and structurally with your tasks, have an eye for deadlines and are good at prioritizing when new tasks arise. At the same time you are strong in both written and oral communication and can explain complex legal issues in a way that makes sense to recipients without a legal background.
As a colleague you are approachable and collaborative. You contribute to a good working environment, share knowledge and experiences with your nearest colleagues. You take responsibility for your own tasks, but also see the value in solving tasks collectively when cases require multiple perspectives.

The daily life can sometimes be busy, including when new reforms have to be implemented, or when there are many current cases, but we focus on a sustainable working life and on tasks and responsibilities being continuously adjusted so that quality and well-being can go hand in hand.
