Experienced leader for the evening shift (home care and nursing) with an open and inclusive leadership style for the Home Nursing Service at Bispebjerg-Nørrebro

What are we focused on?

There is currently a focus on department mergers and reforms. We are in full swing with the work, where we, among other things, describe how the tasks in home care, nursing, visitation and assistive devices should be organized and addressed going forward. It is a large puzzle that is being laid out, and in the end it should support the new organization in the Health and Care Administration.

As the new evening shift leader, a key overarching task for you will be to support the new organization, while listening to the employees' thoughts and desires, ensuring daily operations and ensuring that we continue to have a good working environment.

In the longer term, we are facing becoming a new third in the merger between the Health and Care Administration and the Social Administration. In the evening shift, this means that from May 2027 we will welcome many new citizen tasks and thus also competent colleagues from the Social Home Care.

While this is happening, we keep the citizen at the centre and are focused on collaborating with the citizens and their relatives so that we meet their needs and ensure they have a safe and pleasant everyday life.

We have created an environment where we can speak openly and honestly about things. There is room for new ideas and ways of doing things, and we have an informal tone. You are never alone. As the evening group leader for the shifts at both Bispebjerg and Nørrebro you will work closely with another leadership colleague from the evening groups. Just as you will participate in the daily management and professional development of home care/telehome care. In your role as evening group leader, you will be an important team player together with an energetic and experienced staff group, comprising about 30 employees with different professional backgrounds.

Your background and a bit about you and your leadership role

We imagine that you are a trained nurse (or have another relevant health professional background and a leadership education) and already have good experience in leading different employee groups. It would be a big plus if you have knowledge of operations and working with evening shifts, e.g. in home care or on a care home.

Furthermore, we dream that you are facilitative, good at collaborating across shift schedules to continuously support professionalism, the working environment and ensure the right service to the citizen. Your integrity is high and you stand in your professional capacity as a leader and make decisions on an informed basis – preferably based on input from your employees.

There are many practical tasks and we expect you to spend time ensuring the operation itself, presence, driving lists, composition of staff, building teams, hiring, handling absences, etc., while you create overview, prioritize and delegate tasks to the right employees.

As a leadership colleague you actively contribute to good leadership collaboration and the professional work community, you listen, reflect and offer your open and honest suggestions for a joint solution.

As a person we are looking for an open, appreciative and inclusive leadership colleague, who is curious about others' perspectives and focused on finding common solutions.

With 'the citizen at the center' you focus on ensuring the good citizen journey of high quality, where you communicate and involve the citizen, employees, relatives and possibly other leadership colleagues in the most natural way.

About Home Care/Home Nursing at Bispebjerg-Nørrebro

We are about 400 employees across home care and nursing. The staff are distributed across two evening groups, six day shift home care groups and two nursing groups. The evening groups are divided into five teams, reflecting the five day groups in the building. Each of the five teams consists of helpers and assistants in close interdisciplinary collaboration with the evening nurses.

We are part of the Health and Care Administration in the City of Copenhagen, which provides care to about 1,600 citizens, primarily over 65 years old. We are located on Fensmarksgade in the heart of Nørrebro.

About the Administration

In the Health and Care Administration we would like to support good leadership and we have our leadership foundation , which forms the basis for everything we do around leadership. In addition, as a new member of our team you will be assigned a mentor and will undergo a thorough onboarding program.

Salary and employment terms

This is a full-time position with start on January 4, 2027. Salary and employment terms are determined in accordance with qualifications and the applicable collective agreement between the municipality and the relevant professional organization. We will obtain references and a criminal record check for the successful applicant.

We will hold 1st interviews on Thursday, November 5 and 2nd interviews on Tuesday, November 17. Candidates progressing to the 2nd interview will go through a testing process between interviews and solve a case in connection with the 2nd interview.
